I have just found this site and already think it is really useful...me and my husband are planning on trying for a baby soon and I'm just hunting for advise!
We are planning on starting ttc Nov-Dec time and I'm not sure on when to come off the pill, when to see my GP etc...can anyone help? I have already started taking folic acid as I read somewhere its good to start that 3 months before.

Hi and welcome! you will be hooked on this lke the rest of us soon!! i would come off it now judging by most peoples cycles after the pill. i waiting until May (our wedding month) to come off and expected it to be easy and fall straight away, but we are on month 4 and my cycles are a bit mad so it does/can take a while.no harm in coming off but usin other protection :)

I would definately say to you - come off the pill as soon as you can!! A lot of girls have been having problems with their cycles after coming off the pill, so I would definately try and give your body chance to settle and get to know your natural cycles - even monitoring your fertility, this will give you the best chance of getting your BFP as quickly as possible.

I would recommend coming off the pill a.s.ap. it can take a good couple of months for your body to regulate - I came off in Feb this year and mine is still all over the place. Everybody is different after coming off the pill, my sis got pregnant in the 1st month. It might be an idea after having your withdrawal bleed from your last pill to get some agnus castus - it is meant to help regulate your period. I am starting it after my next AF wheneva she decides to show.
Your taking folic acid which is good XX

We are going to start ttc in nov/dec 08 too - I came off the pill in Apr 08. I didn't start charting until July but I think af is finally settled down.

This cycle I started taking EPO to increase EWCM, vit B6 to increase my LP and i have my OV tests at the ready as I'm not sure I was ov'ing before - I really hope I find I am this month so i'm all ready when the time comes x

if it helps - I read on here that you should finish the packet then stop rather than stop half way through! I stopped taking mine then went to start again - I think I only took 4 then stopped again.

I had a 4 day bleed shortly after, then nothing, then a 2 wk bleed, then seemed to wait forever for af but i've just had my 3rd real cycle since and the EPO seems to have helped (af is shorter and lighter), just need to wait and see if it has worked inn the CM department!

Hi Flora -Bee! Welcome! I am fairly new on here too but have found it soooo helpful. OH and I are TTC and I did come off mid pack of pill, am on CD 15 and have no idea where I am in my cycle in terms of ovulation etc so would definately suggest you come off the pill now and let your body settle... if you happen to fall pregnant before November would it be a problem? If not, there is no harm I would say. It is frustrating at first, not knowing what your body is doing when usually things are routine when on the pill. Good luck! x

I will be sitting down with dh (look..using abbreviations already!) and talking things through but I think I will come off the pill earlier than I thought.
Gosh...I tell you..it is exciting to just think about this stuff!

I agree with all the other ladies, stop taking the pill as soon as possible. If your not wanting to fall pregnant until Nov/Dec time maybe you could use condoms for a few months.
Loads of us girls have had so much trouble with the pill, there are a lot of girls on here still having problems due to the pill.
I know I will never take it again, or at least until I know I am finished having a family.

Decision made...I will come off the pill after the packet I am taking now. I only started it a few days ago but after this one no more!!
