Subject : Bleeding - again!

I am totally bemused by whats going on with my body today!

I came on with af on Thurs and it lasted it's usual 2 days, no blood yesterday (Sat). But today after lunch at my parents I started getting sharp cramps again and I went to the loo and I was bleeding (TMI) dark red blood with dark clots (my af was pinkish red with some mucus), I was upstairs booking a weekend to London for me and Mum, so I shouted dh upstairs in tears and shaking like a leaf and he didnt believe me so I showed him and he was like 'oh my God' and I thought I might be miscarrying - if Thurs was implantation bleed on a short luteal phase. I was soooo scared - I dont really know whats going on for sure!! So cos I was crying and shaking we said a hasty goodbye to parents (I tried to calm down) and we left. I think I'll have to appologise though as we left pretty quickly - they'll be confused and might think it's something they did. I wish I could tell them (well Mum really)
Has this happened to anyone else?

Awww hun - didn't want to read and run!

Hope it's not a m/c - maybe you could call the NHS helpline on 0845 46 47 to see if you can talk to a nurse. Or maybe talk to your emergency doc?

I know if it is a m/c there's nothing they can do except let nature take it's course - but maybe they can help you determine whether it's it is a m/c or not.

Hope you're feeling better soon hun!

Hi Popsicle
Sorry to hear of your traumatic experience, you think you know your body then it does something crazy.
Could your bleed have been a pre-af bleed, like when some people spot for a day or so before full flow? I'd imagine you'd know your body enough to know what not normal though.
I miscarried at 5 weeks, the bleed lasted for a few days then a week later I started bleeding again. I was totally confused so went to the EPAU, had a scan and the conclusion was that it was taking a while to come away and give it time. I know this isn't the same thing that happened to you and I don't want to upset you but maybe you had a very early miscarriage? Its worth making an appointment with you doctor to discuss it or as mummywannabe says you could phone the NHS helpline. They may suggest you do a pregnancy test and if theres a hint of a line there then it shows you have some pregnancy hormone in you and have possibly miscarried (or maybe not)
Sorry I cant be of more help, let us know how you get on
xx
