After my booking in appointment at 7/8 weeks I saw midwife straight after my 12 week scan where i got my blood results. Next one after that I think it was at 16 weeks for downs bloods to be taken.

Hi,

I had my booking in appointment last week i was 8 weeks and my midwife said my next appointment would be when i was 15 weeks pregnant.

She said i would have the date for my 12 weeks scan and my notes come through the post and they would obviously be before i saw her again at 15 weeks.

I would just give them a ring in the morning and ask them as from what I've heard on here eveywhere is different and each area does things at different times.

Where abouts are you? I'm in Lancashire and I saw my mw for a quick chat at 5 weeks then she came to my house to do my booking in appointment at 10 weeks, in my area they only book you in between 8-12 weeks then you have your scan. Have you got a scan date yet?

I'm just outside Milton Keynes. The only reason I saw my midwife at 5 weeks is because they all thought I was 12 weeks due to my having 96 day cycles - i did tell them I coudnt be but no one would listen. It wasnt until we had a scan that we found out I was only a few weeks.

My 12 week scan is 19th I guess i'll wait till after that then ring MW to see about another appointment.

I had my bloods done at 7 weeks and was given my maternity notes to fill in, then had my proper booking in meeting with her yesterday at 9+6. Next appt will be at 16 weeks. I have to ring the surgery and make that soon if i want a convenient time!!

I guess everywhere is different so i'd ring to check.

Hi,
I saw mw at booking in appt (11 wks), never saw a mw at my scans.. they were done by radiographers.
My next appt was 16 wks, then 24, 28, 32, (maybe 34 can't remember!) 36, 38 and 40.. then 41 for a sweep!!

It does sound like it varies considerably!
You're probbaly right to have your scan then ring to enquire!
I always made my next appt before leaving the clinic so always knew when i'd next see mine. All of my appts were at my gp surgery which i think also varies.

Hi,
I too saw my mw at around 5 weeks and she did everything for the "booking in" there and then, bloods, past medical history etc. MW said that I should see her again at around 15 weeks and to make an appt through my GP. I then had an early dating scan at 7+3 and I have my next scan in just over 2 weeks time. As far as Im aware, the mw wont be there, she wasnt there at my first one.

I would ring your surgery to confirm this hun.

erm well I saw mine at 6wks then after my scan I saw a mw at the hospital (although I didn't know I was due to see anyone & she didn't really do anything - no listening for hb no bp checks, in fact all she wanted to know was were we having tripple test etc)

then i had a routine mw app at 16wks

hope that helps

It all depend on where you live- which is a shame

I went to see my doctor when i was 8 weeks (i knew i was pregnant at 4wks) I expected to be referred to my mw asap and have special care as i had a silent mc last december- which caused 3 months of problems.

However I have hardly received any care at all so far. I had to beg for my 12 wk scan, then saw my mw at 15wk for my booking in app and bloods. I have my next scan on 1st oct (i'll be 21 wk+ 3) Then i'll have another app with mw at 22 wk.

Its a shame that there is no continuity with the pregnancy care we all receive
