Hi, try MAM bottles/teats - the teats are silky soft & different shape to others available at the mo. I already had AVENT ones & LO flatly refused them but first time I tried MAM he was fine. I also would start a feed on the boob then sneakily (as sneakily as you can be!) push in teat & slip my nipple out which worked a few times! Surprised

I found trying to get my hubby to feed with the bottle useless as he gave up straight away & would bring bb back to me really quickly so bb knew I was there! grrrr! I was the one to make the bb take bottle as I was determined to get him to accept it but it was easier when I started using MAM bottles.

I've been bf and bottle feeding my lo and she still takes to both very well. I use tommee tippee bottles and i don't think she even knows the difference when she's feeding. All i can tell you is its the ones that come in a grey box and you can get them from mothercare in boxes of four, two and one. They have an anti colic vent on the teat too.

Hope you find something that helps you out

Hi dee dee, dont really have any words of wisdom for you as Isaac refused point blank to ever take a bottle, I tried dr browns, avent tommee tippee, nuk, mam and loads of others, I think I could have opened my own bottle shop LOL! nothing worked for him, I hope you have better luck than me. xx

Hi Dee,
Nothing ever worked for me either. Tried allsorts to no avail, eventually resorted to beakers as was easier by that age. With last daughter i chickened out of even trying and fed her for a year as i couldn't face even trying it.
Have to say it has been the same with Alex this time. Am still just bf him (no bottles) as he is my last and i'm probably being sentimental. He is running me ragged tho, awake at night with teething and feeding for comfort all the time (bad mummy!).
Hope you get some gd tips, i'll be keeping an eye out just in case!
Nik xx

I can't get my lo to take a bottle either. Advice I was given by an expert was to try latex NUK teats as they are more natural apparently and to try feeding him while walking around. I've been trying for a week and it hasn't worked, although at least he doesn't spit it out anymore, he just chews on it. I think I'm going to give up, I'm wasting so much expressed milk it's silly! Might work for you though, good luck...

I know 2 people who had a similar problem with their 7 month olds. One of them eventually got her lo to take a Dr. Browns bottle with formula & the other baby just refused the bottle full stop but she would have ebm from a NUK trainer cup. As said above, it could be worth trying latex teats instead, as they are softer & more flexible. xx

My dd wouldn't take a bottle at this time, so we went straight to a tommee tippee cup (the one where it can just pour out.) Messy, but worth it x x x

Hiya
I have posted about this as I have had the same problem.
I have tried all bottles and to no avail. My LO is 6 months old and I go back to work next week.
I have spoken to my health visitor about it and she said that once they get to 6 months old you are better off NOT trying to get them to take a bottle and to go straight to a cup instead.
My LO will take water out of a tommee tippee cup but not milk (breast or various formula). The health visitor advised as long as she is bieng breastfed in the morning and evening and is getting enough calcium rich dairy foods and eating a full 3 meals a day she will be fine.
If it is just during the day you want to leave the baby she should not really need any milk ....as long as she drinks water and eats well.
If it is night time...try a cup.
Hope this helps. Probably not though cos babies just do what they want anyway lol !

Hi Dee,
The only thing other than me I have ever had any success getting Henry to drink from is a doidy cup!
He will only have juice, won't touch formula from it and I can't express anymore, so he's now down to a morning and night bf, with a top up mid afternoon if he seems to want it. But since he's eating plenty I'm not concerned!
Have you started weaning Amelia yet, I know you were hoping to get to 6 months before you started.
I would try ebm in a doidy, that would be my best suggestion!
