Anyone on agnus castus? If yes, what are you using it for exactly and did your doctor recommend it to you or did you just get it from the health food shop off your own bat?

I have been taking it for approx 3 months now. I wanted to regulate my cycles after having a 60+ day cycle a while ago.

I saw it recommended on here so went to see my local natural health pharmacist and she said it is a great pregnancy tonic - regulates your hormones and cycles and creates a good environment to support a pregnancy.

Since taking it, my cycles have been 49 days, 46 days and 27 days - not sure if the last one was a complete fluke but am due to test on 15th Sept as I think I ov'd last week (which would make it an approx 28 day cycle this month). I would def recommend it - have not had side effects but I think some ladies on here may have experienced headaches with it.

im taking ac. Im taking it this time to keep my period length up. When we were ttc our daughter i was 24 day cycle took ac and got it back up to 28. We conceived after taking it for 3 months, took us a total of 10months to conceive so if it did work for me then (no idea if it did or not) wanted to save some time. I originally took it because i had read that it was good for 'female' balance and could regulate cycles so just got it from holland and barrat who often do deals on it.

Are you taking it?

I like the sound of this! Can it be taken with Pregnacare and calcium tablets? I am going to start taking both (when I remember). Calcium tablets because I don't do milk. Don't really want to be taking a cocktail of things really though!

Thanks for your replies, I have just started taking it because it seems my luteal phase is just 9 days - pretty short.

Are you taking the ones from holland & barrett? I thought the dosage was pretty high but then the are no guidelines online.

I have bought some AC as I am currently on cd67 and still no AF. Have had really long cycles since coming off the pill in December 07 had one as long as 101 days and am trying to reduce length of them. I havent started taking them yet as I am waiting for CD1 to arrive although if it doesnt come soon i may just do a HPT just to make sure and then start taking it. I bought mine from H&B and paid i think 10.99 for 200 capsules. xxx

Hi Andipink. i bought some but as yet i have not taken any. can you ash your start taking them at any time of the month and can you take them with folic acid?

i'm taking EPO and vit B6 - are these supposed to give the same result as AC?

i'm taking EPO to increase EWCM and it has also shortened and lightened af, and vit B6 to increase LP.

Princess85, I'm also taking EPO & B6 for the same reasons that you are but I thought I'd add Agnus Castus as I heard it was really effective in increasing the LP.,

Hiya Newlook, how you doing? I'm not sure if you have to wait to cd1 to start taking them, I started on cd2 but I am pretty sure that they are fine with folic acid.

Sweetie123, I'm sorry you are having such long cycles, such a pain. Is it advisable to wait until cd1 to start taking them or is it just in case you're pregnant?

I think they just advise to wait until CD1 to make sure you are not pregnant but with all these ladies getting BFN's test after test and then waiting a while and eventually getting their BFP's i dont really want to risk taking it until AF arrives.xxx

Ive been taking AC for 2 cycles now and Ive started ovulating whilst on it but I still only have a 9 day luteal phase. I went to the doctors on Friday about the short luteal phase and he says it shouldn't be that short and he is phoning my gynaecologist tomorrow and then phoning me to tell me what the gynaecologist says can be done and what might be the problem. Im not taking B6 or EPO. But I will keep taking the AC, hoping it will help.

I started on EPO and AC as well as the folic acid I was already on on month 3, AC to try and shorten / regulate my cycles and EPO to increase EWCM. I had had 40 and 48 day cycles previously. this was the month I got bfp - not sure if it was coincidence or not tho!! If I hadn't had BFP I would have had a 44 day cycle that month xx

I used the holland and barrett ones too!! Although you can probably get a cheaper version from a chemist!

Popsicle - I have 9 day luteal phase too and I saw my gp about it on Friday. She's sending me for 2 day bloods next month to see what's going on. I'll be interested to hear what your doctor says.

Immense, you have given me hope!! I said it before but many congrats on your bfp!!

Newlook, I'm good thanks. Following on from Sweetie's advice, I agree that you should wait til day one to start AC. You never know, you might get a bfp instead!!

i hope so! i know its only month of ttc but i reeeeeeeeeeally am impatient, i want it to happen like now! lol

dont want to think about timing bd'ing as i think it spoils it, spur of the moment stuff is the best lol ;)

Ladies, what does a short LP mean?
