Subject : JUST COME OFF THE PILL AND CONFUSED!!!

Hiya all,

Looking for a bit of support really. I am 23 and my husband and I have decided that now is the right time in our lives to start trying (or stop not trying) to have a baby. I have been on the pill, for I really cant remember how long. About 9 years I think as I had bad acne and period pains when I was in school. I know I used to be on dianette but have been on cilest for the most recent years, but for how long I cannot remember. Quite a few I think. Probably around five years.

My first 'off the pill' period was due last monday, that is based on a 28 day cycle, which is what I was on the pill. I still have not come on yet. I took two tests, one this morning and one last night as I couldn't wait ne more - both negative by the way. This morning I was sure though that I was about to come on as discharge was brownish (tmi I know) but again nothing. All week I have had no acutal visible discharge but when i wipe myself it is a very very pale pink, but not a bloody colour.

I cannot remember how regular my real periods should be, but I am very confused. I have felt a bit shaky, light headed and tired this week and I keep thinking, am I, aren't I. I wasn't even expecting to think I could be pregnant this month as I just presumed that it would take a few months to concieve but now I haven't come on it's got me wondering.

Has any one else had a similar experience after coming off the pill, It would be really nice to chat with someone in the same boat as me.

Sorry for babbling,

H x

well.............

just been to the loo and I think ive actually come on, I know that it sounds weird, but im pleased. As now I have a 'real' period date to go by. So, today is the 6th Sept. Wonder when my next will be. When do you think I will ovulate next. Isn't it around 12 - 14 days after 1st day of period, so that would be..............

gonna go and work it out. Thanks, H x: Surprised)

Hi I had something simliar two weeks after not taking mine. It lasted about three days. I was expecting to have a 'proper' period two weeks ago. I was getting the good old period pains and everything. Decided to do a test and turns out I'm pregnant! I was on the pill for almost 10 years and was told it would take ages for my body to get back to normal. I've been very lucky!
I'm now 6+3. Hope yours happens quickly for you too xx

Hello,

I was kind of in the same boat as you,
When i started my periods was very heavy & got head ache's and back pains all the time, so the doctors put me on the pill, as they say the *pill* sorts your periods out, i went on the pill and my periods was fine.. i come on regular time every month, then when i come off the pill i was always late with my periods & they got really heavy like they did before.

Don't worry so much..
A couple of months after i come off the pill my periods stopped & i took a test and it said negative.. so i went to the clinic and it said possitive..!! It also depends on what test's your using, try different ones..

Hope all goes well for you.!!

Danii
