I think they start any time from 20 weeks onwards, but some people don't notice them so I wouldn't worry about not feeling them! My midwife says that everyone gets them but some stronger then others ...

I havent had any b/h at all??? I keep waiting for them but they dont come, this is my 1st baby so dont know if that has anything to do with it?

I must say though i do feel a little cheated as i dont appear to have had any signs and symptons that all the books and proff tell you that we get. I've had no morning sickness, no sore breats, no piles, no stretch marks, no vains, i never got the feeling i was pregnant and apart from the bump i have felt no different all the way through? Just shows we are all different.

Knowing my luck i got away with loads i'll have the labour from hell lol

Some women never get them at all. I certainly never did during my first pregnancy (I had never even heard of them!) But I got them very early on during my second preg (at 20 weeks ) and that was seriously scary as they were very painful and I ended up in hospital several times with them as the midwife thought they might have been the real thing! This is my 3rd preg now and I have only had them once at 30 weeks (for a whole night, ouch!) I am now 40wks (4 days overdue to be exact!) and I am only just starting to get them again at night.
I would relish not having any if I were you! They are usually far more painful than the health professionnals make them out to be! My midwife told me I may have a less painful labour if I don't get any Braxton Hicks but I am not so sure about that!!! Anyway, enjoy your pregnancy and don't worry to much about what 'symptoms' you should get and when. There is no such thing as a textbook pregnancy, we are all different. Hope that helped. lol

I never got them until I was overdue. And I think they were actually real contractions as when I went in to be induced the midwife said my cervix was dilating xx

I didn't get them at all when I was pregnant with SBjr, however I was getting pains a few weeks ago (around 16wks) and my doctor confirmed they were BH. According to my doc (and midwife cos I asked her after LOL! ) you can get Braxton Hicks at any point in your pregnancy.

I still get them occasionally now and they are more uncomfortable than anything else. Although I confess a couple have made me catch my breathe!

I started getting them at about 18 weeks - my uterus just seizes up like a big cramp, and goes rock hard. I'd describe them as uncomfortable but not painful. They get more and more uncomfortable as the bump gets bigger, though WhateeeEver!

I'm only just getting them now and I'm 37 weeks with my first. They feel like period type pains to me, and my bump goes a bit hard. Crossing my fingers the real thing comes soon, I want this baby out!
