Im sat here crying my eyes out coz my oh keeps telling me how much weight ive put on around my face,arms and legs. I dont realy care most of the time but its so upsetting that I cant take it any more. Of coz im going to put a little on im having a fu##ing baby. Why cant he see that it hurts when he say's things like. Im not one to sit and take it so he's had one hell of a screeming cry from me but yet still by the look on his face doesn't get it. I had a very bad eating problem when I was in my teens and it never goes away realy. The more he keeps telling my how FAT I am the more Im strating to think like I did back then

I am so sorry men do not have a clue. When you are pregnant your body stores fat ready for breastfeeding. I know of two people who had one pregnancy they did not put on any other weight and the other they put weight on all over and it was not from overeating or changing their lifestyle at all.

I know how you feel babe i had an eating problem when i was younger i got over it but every time i gane weight i feel my mind going back which is why i never loose weight with out my Docs help and suport.
My hubby knows this and actualy dosnt care what size i am, its our 6 year old son that keeps bringing up how fat mummys tummy is getting these days, i would love to find the person that actualy told him this word and what it means as its not a word that has ever been used in our house as i never want my kids to grow up and have the isues with there bodys that i have had.
men will never get it though, no one cares what size they are they can let them selfs get as fat as they want and no one coments on it as all x

I had an eating disorder too hence me been so skinny pre-pregnancy.. the disorder stopped at about 16 but i could never gain weight and now im pregnant i have put on nearly 3 stone lol im trying not to let it bother me as im 6ft tall so i do look better for it and im still within the healthy range!

i lost 3 stone to get pregnant and i got loads of crap from the hospital about my weight when i went for my first scan because i was 1kg (2.5lbs) over average...they told me i was high risk and i wouldn't feel the baby move because of all my fat (!!!) and i'd have to have extra check-ups because of it...i was size 14/16 and it made me feel like sh!t...i've now taken the attitude of "theres worse people than me" and now i don't care what people say about my weight and as it turns out they didn't even bother with the extra check-ups, i feel my baby move fine and they haven't even weighed me since then!

men just don't understand how much it bothers us...imagine if we told them their 'you-know-what' had SHRUNK...haha maybe you should try that? he'd soon be sulking then! grrr men! x

I was overweight before getting pg and for someone that's never had a flat tummy I've suddenly got a real issue with my new body and huge backside !! Already planning my post baby diet.
My OH sometimes says things as a joke and when I remind him how insecure I am right now and unattractive I feel he apologises and tries to be nice. Until the next time eh ?!
Try to explain to him how you're feeling and that you're not loving your body right now either. But it is serving a very important purpose right now and you need to change in order to have a healthy pregnancy and baby. Hope you're feeling a bit better. S x

I was 16.5 stone when I got pregnant and I am now 18 stone at 6 months pregnant. My hubby calls me Moby (after moby dick) and I know he is kidding because he pees himself laughing when he says it and the other night I was saying that I had weighed myself and I was 18 stone and he said 'Babe you are pregnant with our baby and you couldn't look sexier'. He says my boobs are lush!
He also said that if I got too big and stuck in the doorway he would grease me with butter and run at me!!! He considers himself a comedian!!! He isn't!!!!
I have always been big since I left home at 17 and gained weight by pigging out on junk. When I met my hubby I was 15 stone and his father and mother disliked how big I was and ridiculed me regularly. They never said it in front of my husband but I was always upset about it and it was something my hubby said. He said 'Regardless of how much you weigh I love you because you love me, make me laugh and clean my house!!'. I told my husband what your OH said and he said he is a dick and if he can't see how beautiful you are pregnant or not then he is needs to be given his walking papers. I know that's easier said than done and you need to confront him and point out that I am pregnant you know!

I think society spends too much attention on weight and we shouldn't be like that. Life is too short.

My MW moaned that I was an overweight mum to be and I said 'so?' and she went on and on about the fact that if I weigh over 25 stone I will need a special hospital bed and I said 'well I pay my taxes so a special bed is paid for by me'.

I hate shallow people who pick on someone because of their weight when in fact they are picking on you because they don't like something about themselves.

I know how you feel. My OH keeps telling me he loves the way I look and my 5 year old daughter says "You're not fat Mummy, you're beautiful." My sister is really getting to me though. Every time I see her she tells me I look even bigger and keeps commenting that I'll have to stop work earlier than planned (I've told my boss I'll work till Christmas) cos "Your legs won't hold you up!" It's horrible and upsetting and what makes it worse is she's a size 24 herself and she's not pregnant!

I'm only 21 weeks and I am pretty big and sick of hearing "Are you sure it's not twins?!" But it's something we've no control over and will all be worth it in the end.

I think your hubby needs a reality check! First it is probably not fat but mostly water retention and most of it will probably drop off in the first 2 weeks after your baby is born!
I don't know how old your oh is but mine started putting some serious weight on when he hit 45 so yours had better beware it doesn't happen to him!!! (Wouldn' t you just love to point at his pot belly and comment on how HE has no excuse for being soooo fat!!!)
Tell you what though, I put on a lot more weight with my 1st baby than my second but I lost it in no time the first time round. It seems that the more you put on the faster it drops!!!
I can understand how upsetting it is when someone so close makes you feel crap about the way you look but don't worry so much over your weight now. Your body is doing what it needs to do and it is only for a short period of time. My favourite time is when my body goes back to normal all over but for the boobs when I breastfeed! And trust me men don't complain then!!!
