Hi,just wanted to get your opinions on this. My wife & I quite often disagree on our "TV policy" - how long is normal for toddlers to watch. She insists that 30min per day is enough as they are still small but I am more relaxed about it and think an hour won't hurt either. We have got good DVDs for children, so this might even be a learning experience for them? Would be really interested how other parents deal with that.

Our tv never seems to be off, I now feel like a really bad mum admitting that. We do ,however, make sure we know what is being watched is suitable for each age group [ 8 : ranging fro 17yr - 4mth ], luckily the kids love the discovery channel so that makes me feel less guilty.

YOu are right, our TV is also on many hours a day. But I Want to change that because I HEard it's slows learning down and the way the learn to speak because watching TV is only one way communication. Plus it apparently can lead to attention deficit disorder - don't know exactly what this is either but it all seems to indicate that it's better to limit tv.
