Subject : Am being bitten!

Haven't posted for a while so I hope all's well with everyone!

My lo is now 8 months and the feeding had been going fine - down to only a few feeds now since he's on three to four solid meals a day. Recently he developed his first two teeth - adorable! But now, he suddenly bites me in the middle of a feed! I usually tell him to stop (firmly) disengage him and then restart. This usually works but I still get some nibbling. This evening however, while playing with him he tried to open my shirt for a feed (he does that sometimes) and I let him even though it was not our usual feed time and he bit down on me so hard I actually had blood gush out! It was so weird and now I'm really scared to nurse him again!

I know he probably wants it more since he's teething and nursing can help sooth the pain, but what about my pain? Any ideas or suggestions?

hiya SRM
Haven't sen you in ages! My dd is now 7 and a half months old. she has 2 front teeth and more above on their way I think. she hasn't bitten me YET but I think she will as we explore finger food some more. I don't know how you carry on. I am thinking that once she bites me I may have to switch to formula. I'm useless with pain! I was hoping to keep going till 12 months tho, so we'll have to see. She hasn't yet, so maybe she won't. I did hear on here that if you hold them really tight against you, close into the body it makes it difficult to bite? Let me know if it works!

Hey Loulou! I've just been so so busy with two kids and my work... am still enjoying the breast feeding, but yeah, the biting is just too much! Just feel bad depriving him... :( Let's see how long I carry on!
