Subject : 2 YEAR & 8 MONTHS BEDTIME TROUBLES!!!

HI, MY DAUGHTER IS 2 YEARS AND 8 MONTHS AND OVER THE LAST FEW WEEKS IS BECOMING A LITTLE MADAM AT BEDTIME.

WE DON'T HAVE ANY TROUBLE GETTING HER TO BED AND TO SLEEP BUT THEN SHE IS WAKING UP AS SHE DID LAST NIGHT AND THEN CRYING AND SCREAMING AND WE CAN'T THEN GET HER BACK TO SLEEP.

LAST NIGHT SHE WOKE ABOUT MIDNIGHT AND WE FINALLY SETTLED HER AT 4:20AM!!!! NEEDLESS TO SAY WE ARE ALL LIKE ZOMBIES TODAY.

POOR HUBBY HAD TO GO TO WORK & BIG SISTER TO SCHOOL.

WE HAVE A 13 WEEK OLD BABY BUT OLIVIA IS VERY SETTLED WITH HIM AND HAS BEEN FOR SOMETIME NOW.

IS THIS A PHASE SHE IS GOING THROUGH DO YOU THINK?

ANYONE ELSE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM?

THE TROUBLE IS COME OCTBER HALF TERM I WAS HOPING TO PUT OUR LITTLEST IN THE SAME BEDROOM. FINGERS CROSSED ALL WILL BE SETTLED Y THEN.

WE TRY AND TALK TO HER ABOUT BEDTIME BUT SHE JUST SAYS 'OLIVIA CRY IN BED'

I'VE PUT HER DOWN FOR A NAP TODAY BUT OBVIOUSLY DON'T WANT HER SLEEPING LONG INCASE WE HAVE THE SAME TONIGHT.

SHE STARTS A PLAYGROUP WEEK AFTER NEXT A COUPLE OF MORNINGS A WEEK MAYBE IT WILL ALL CHANGE THEN AS SHE WILL BE SHATTERED. I DO HOPE SO.

LEILA X

my sons 3 but we went through a stage of this. Its really tricky. he used to love going to bed and would settle straight away but then he realised he could play us up a bit and really started pushing the boundaries. its really hard to know what to do. we were just really persistant and became quite strict. we also introduced a bedtime story which he'd never been worried about before but just needed something extra to help settle him.
Does the baby disrupt the bedtime routine? maybe bedtime is when she starts mulling over things? My eldest was fine until the baby was about 6 months old and thats when he started playing up. (he must take after me because my mum said i was the same)
best of luck with everything!
