Subject : Holiday abroad

In 6 weeks time we are going away with my parents to Portugal for a week. LO will be 16 months old and already I'm convinced I'll forget something!!! Those of you who havbre been away with a toddler what do you take? I'm terrible at packing and always take every little thing, when we go to my OH's parents the car is always full and we only usually go for the weekend!! lol
What would you take for LO for a weeks holiday abroad?
Thanks

My lo is almost 12 months so I guess I'm gate crashing from the baby forum!! We;ve just come back from a fortnight in Mexico and all we took for her were a couple of small toys/books for on the flight and a swim seat (although a rubber ring would probably be ok depending how big your lo is!)
We took those all in one sun protection suits to protect her from the very hot sun and a shade a babe for her buggy - we managed 2 weeks and no sun tan for her at all!!
Have a fab holiday!
xx

We went to Fuertavetura in July with our lo who was 14mnths at the time. The all in one swim/sunsuits are great. We took 2 for washing purposes. Toys wise we took small cars and small books and a pack of balloons (these were great for batting/chasing round the hotel room and took up no space.). Those poncho style towels were really useful. We could wrap James up and lay him on a shaded sun bed for a nap knowing that he would be covered up no matter what.
My big tip is for the plane. We bought a couple of small things (sticker book, mags and the small Thomas aquadraw mats) which we kept for the journey. This way they were new and exciting and interesting. It seemed to work.
Have a great time.
