Subject : iv had my baby
My baby girl was due aug 30th. I started getting contractions about 9 am wednesday morning and decided to take all my bags down to my nans so get ready for the hospital trip. once there my contacting where geting stronger and stronger. i kept calling the hospital to see if i could come in but they told me i had to wait for my contractions to come every 4 minutes or my waters to brake. around 4pm my contractions where coming every 7 minutes so i decided to ignor the hopital and just go. i got there at 5 pm and was finally seen at 6.30 which is when they hooked me up to monitor me. After a few minutes they told me i was'nt in established labour and that they where sending me home. I told the midwife that i had a baby and i no what labour feels like. The midwife then told me if i was in labour then i would be screaming out. I refused to leave untill i had an internal examination which is when she pop up and said i dont belive this you full dilated. within 15 mintues i needed to push and with one big push my baby was out. She was really tiny and weighted 6.5. Im glad its all over.

Congratulations but am sorry that you had such an argumentative midwife. I have had that experience on delivery suite and was made to feel so silly. As it turned out it was a false labour but at the end of the day I knew what was happening with my body. Nevermind, all the best on the swift delivery of your little girl and wishing you all the very best. I am sure she is beautiful and hope all is going really well for you both. I am being induced tomorrow evening ...... yippee!!

Congratulations! Sorry to hear your had a bad experience with the midwives..my birth last saturday was very similar (why do we have to be screaming to be in labour?!) where they firstly didn't want me to go to hospital, and then wanted me to go home (wouldn't examine me as my waters had broken) and then aftre about an hour on a monitor wouldn't believe i needed to push! Being my first baby i didn't know what to expect but i did know i couldn't go home and he was on his way..if i'd listened to the midwives on the phone he probably would have nearly been born at home - scary!
Enjoy your new baby..i know its fab to have fast labour but i also found the battle for them to reasie i was in labour very frightneing and traumatic - although i know these feelings will fade! Take care and congrats again..xx
