hello girls

Well I finally have my baby, he wasnt due until 18th September. He is called Joe Alan and was born weighing 7pound 9ounces and was born at 35weeks and 6 days.

I went in to the hospital on Sat 16th Aug as I had a small amount of brown blood and midwife thought it could be a show, they did my blood pressure too and it was very high and said they wanted me to stay in over night to keep an eye on it. The next morning it was high again and they started making me have blood pressure tablets and had to have a monitor permenantly straped to me to keep an eye on baby. The monday night I started to feel really odd and tired and had protein in my urine and was told the best place fo me was the labour ward. I was given lots if drips and drugs to control my blood pressure and they finally said it was pre-eclampsia and wanted me to be induced the next morning so the baby did not get distressed. They spent trhe day Tuesday trying to induce with gel and then that evening they broke my waters. Baby then got distressed and they had to use ventouse delivery (suction cap) to help him out. Finally Joe was born at 5.23am on Wed 20 Aug. I then started heamoridging and lost 2 litres of blood. I had to have a blood tranfusion and am still weak but am so grateful Joe was well, he had bad jaundice but they say thats normal for a baby so early.

we are all at home now. I should still have 22 days left.

Wow sounds like you had a rough time. Congratulations on your little boy, I'm really pleased that everything turned out well in the end. Can't wait for my little boy to finally make an appearance!!
