Subject : Back to CD1 - BFP last night and now its all gone :(

I cant believe she got me. I KNOW i got a positive last night, OH saw it too. Then this morning coming into work i came on.

Could it have been a false positive or do you think its just my body getting rid of something that wasnt right?

Was so upset this morning but what else can you do? Back onto cd1! Still, got the CB fertility monitor to use this month.

I am so sorry this has happened to you, I think it's known as a chemical pregnancy and I know this is why a lot of people say to avoid the early tests as they can detect a pregnancy that was never going to be viable.

I cant imagine how you must be feeling after the elation you must have felt last night.

How have you managed at work today? I really hope you are able to find some comfort from your oh and that you get a very very sticky BFP soon xx

I am SO sorry that this happened to you ... whether you saw the line and this was a chemical prenanancy or not .. unfortnatatly you will never know ... the important thing here is that you look ahead to next month - and getting your monitor is a great step ... there are a ton (its frightening) of us ladies who have gone through a MC and the important thing in the end is that you look forward not back ... in my opinions its important that you dont wrestle with whether there was a line or not (even though its tempting to do so) jsut get your PMA head on and think that sept will be your month ... wishing you heaps of luck for sept

here is a link about chemical pregnancy that explains what it is

http://www.womens-health.co.uk/chemical.html

but as goonie rightly says - this is why advise is often given to not early test .. and i apologies - i jsut read my previous post and it may sound a little harsh and preachy - its really not meant to - i just know that wondering does no good (I should know as i wasted enough time myself doing so in the past) ... take care of yourself

Sorry to hear that Carrie.

Although I tested a forthnight after I was due, cause I was getting positive OPK tests every day, so did a CBD and got a BFP. Unfortunately three days later this went to a negative, so assuming it was either a very early MC or possible a chemical pregnancy.

Its so hard, but know how you feel. I felt gutted and still do.

Hey girls
Thank you all for everything! Goonie you were fine - i knew exactly what you meant!!

I was in real shock although part of me knew? Because it was so faint last night it didnt feel real and then when i came on this morning i knew but then part of me KNOWS a line is a line and it can only happen with Hcg. I didnt sleep at all last night as i knew the positive wasnt right - thats why i was so tentative coming on here last night. Weird ey! I feel sorry for my OH.

TMI coming - Sorry

I was really clotty first thing and reading up on chemical pregnancy (thanks for the link hun) they say that you get clots and more pain and thats what i have had today.

The positive to take from this is that we got pregnant! Irrelevant of what happened is that we got there and miscarriages happen for many reasons. OH has a low average sperm count and i had PID when i was 21 and i was worried that we might not be able to conceive but this is our first month and we get this - surely its a good sign that we can actually get pregnant???

xx

So sorry to hear this too. I had one of these the month before i got pg with my first and like you say you get lots of clots (i don't usually get them) and the pain was really bad. I remember taking painkillers and them not doing anything. The way i looked at it tho was at least i knew i could now get pg and i wouldn't have wanted the pg to go on for longer and then miscarry at a later date. And i relaxed a bit more the next month. 5 weeks later i got a proper bfp! good luck for this month xx

i agree carrie it is a postive to know this - esp if you and OH have had cause to worry about whether you can ...

chocolate you are soooooo lucky with your BFP 5 weeks later and best of luck with your 9 months (less than that now) .. I wish i were so lucky .. we mc in feb and are still waiting for our next BFP ... carrie i DONT say this to drepress you in any way - but maybe rather caution you that sometimes you have to wait a bit too ... but as you say you have the fact you can have a BFP in your pocket ... thats what keeps me going!

Hi hun, this also happened to me in the week leading up to my wedding so I know exactly how you are feeling. I agree with you also about the 'feeling' you had about the test and knowing something wasn't right. All I can say is that you did get your bfp and you know now that it can happen, it just wasn't meant to be this time.

Since this happened I no longer test until I'm more than 4 days late which hasn't happened yet, but I know it will and it will for you too. Big hugs.

Lisa. x x

Lisa i think you are v wise - you either early test and cope with the rollercoaster of BFNs or Carrie unfortunately what has happend to you ... or you wait - i try and wait - but when i cave i know ive only got myself to blame for any addiitonal disappointment ... its a personal choice

Its really difficult not to cave in and test thats for sure.

Im looking forward to a nice BIG glass of wine tonight and a cuddle with my oh.

The thing that im clinging on to to get me through this atm is that we got PG in our first month which is good. Now we can just keep bd'ing until we get another one!

Hopefully anyway!

Thank you all so much for your support - dont know what i would do without you girls x x

Phew glad I didn't upset you even more.

I think its so positive that you're looking at it from the angle that you did achieve a BFP and that you will do again.

I really hope to see another announcement in 4 weeks time and that you get a very very sticky one xx
