Apparently it can take a child up to 10 tries of a new food before they actually eat it,so i would keep trying with 2 new foods on their plate along with their favourite food and even if they just put the food to their mouths praise them and use stickers everytime they put a new food in their mouth. Encouragement and praise is a must for children when you are trying to get them to try and eat new food.
Good luck!!x

Magic Mash!!!

I had a similar problem with SBJr when he was little. Only thing he'd eat was mashed potato - so I made Magic Mash and he loved it!

Basically - puree veg and mix it with mashed potato. The magic bit is "what colour will it be today?" Orange? (carrot), Green? (any green veg LOL! ), blue? (cauli with bit of food colouring) - the list goes on!

Chuck in some cheese too as it takes the edge off the veg flavour if they are struggling with the taste.

I then gradually weaned him off magic mash and into veg as he got older. He recognised the taste from the mash so it wasn't so hard to get him to eat veg on its own.

Worked great - until he then went to school and all his mates said how horrible veg was. He's now 11 and only just got him back into eating veg without complaints!!
