Subject : Pregnant
Hi,
Hope eveyone is well, i am new to these boards but thought would say hello.
I had my first son in 2006 and he was born 9 weeks early by planned c-section, as scans showed he had just stopped growing. He was 2lb 50z and had no problems at all and was home within 4 weeks, he is now 2 and is a energetic big boy and just so perfect.
We found out on saturday that i am pregnant again and are very very excited although it is very early days am only 4 weeks have just missed my 1st period.
So thats my story ha, hope to speak to some people who have also been through similar experiences

Hi Kelly,i;m in the exact same position as you! My liitle boy was also born in 2006 at 29 weeks due to me having pre eclampsia. He weighed 2lbs 11ozs,was in special care for 6 weeks and came home on oxygen. He is now a fit and healthy 2 yr old which we are so thankful for1
I am currently 7 weeks pregnant and i don't think it has sunk in properly yet! I haven't seen the mid wife yet but i suppose when i do it will seem more real!
How are you feeling about being pregnant again? I know i will be very anxious,i just want the big bump this time round and not be able to see my toes and all the aches and pains that go with late pregnancy!
I think i will have to take one day at a time,at least if it does happen again i know what will happen and be prepared,as much as you can be for a prem baby!!
Look forward to sharing our pregnancies together over the coming months!

Hi Nikki,
Congratulations on your pregnancy!!! It sounds like we have both been very luck were are 1st borns are concerned.
I look at my son everyday and cant beleive how his life started off he is so healthy and energetic now of which my husband and i are so grateful of.
I am exactly the same as you, my husband keeps laughing at me as i keep going on about how excited i am that i might get a really big bump and all the other effects of a pregnancy as we didnt have any 1st time around, to this day im sure my neighbours still wonder where Zade suddenly appeared from ha ha.
I am going doctors on monday to tell them i am pregnant, cant wait until we are 12 weeks so can get a scan and tell the world!!
Hope you are doing well???
Kelly xx

Hi to you all,
I am another person like you guys that has experienced premature birth. My daughter was born 10 weeks early and was a healthy weight of 3lb4oz. She spent five weeks in neonatal unit before coming home. She is now five years old and is fantastic!!
I am currently 10 weeks pregnant and so excited. I have read that if you've had a premature birth before you can have another one. My scan date is normal and have seen my midwife already. However, i have been told that i will be under a consultant due to having a premature birth. Is anyone else been told or is under a consultant?

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
Yea i bet you can't wait to get through your appointment and get on with it, it makes it all feel so real then.
It took my docotors two attempts before my letter reaching the hospital, although i was surprised an appointment was made for me to see the midwife at 8wks. In which i had my blood tests done and everything, they said that there a new guildelines they have to follow and things are carried out early, in which i was quite surprised.
My scan has been made for normal date which is on 2 Septemeber and they have already made me a date to see my consultant which is 29 September.
Hope you hear something soon and all goes well.
