Subject : Tommee tippee powder dispensors?

Does anyone have them? It's the ones that go in the bottle. I was just wondering how you all kept the little tubs sterile while still making sure its dry so all the powder doesnt stick? I've been trying it with kitchen towel but its probably making it not sterile anymore. I also recon leaving the lid off overnight will do the same. If I put on the lid it never dries!

Any tips?

I used to have one of the ones by Avent. It used to go thru the dishwasher, never sterilized it. As far as I was concerned, the powder in the tub doesn't stay sterile so wouldn't make a difference in the dispenser tub lol As long as bottle n teat were sterilized I didn't see a prob.

I used to dry it with kitchen towel or leave them upside down lifted slightly on their lids so the air got in and dried it over night. But like mummyX5 says the milk powder is not sterile so its not a huge problem.

I have a powder dispenser (boots) I liked the look of the tt ones as I have the bottles but I thought they'd be a pain to wash and dry and seeing as my lo takes 7oz that they'd get wet in the bottle of water. My boots one holds 3 portions of milk powder & its fab, I use it all the time not just when going out. I dont sterilise it very often, maybe once a week if that! The way I see it all its got in it is milk, and as the other girls said the tins of milk arent sterile anyway. When I do sterilise it i just leave the lid off to dry.

We use avent and TT containers, We never put the containers in the TT bottles, but there is always room in one of the many bags we lug arround! Also use washable nappys so have pleanty of bags and we know the system.

I have the tt and the avent 3 portion thing. the tt ones are supposed to hold 8 scoops but they only hold 6 scoops of the milk we have (cow and gate comfort) so now cams on 7oz bottles we cant use em anymore. he's only 7 weeks so a big waste of money really.
the avent one is so much better. i sterilise it and wipe with a fresh tea towel but after reading the above posts dont think i'll bother any more!! as you all say, the powder tubs arent sterile!!

I have the TT powder dispensors and I do the exact same as Nicx.

My lo is on 7 scoops at the moment and we have no problem fitting 7 scoops in.... just give it a wiggle and tap it on the work top after about 6 scoops and then you will have plenty of room for a couple more scoops.

I use the tt ones and can fit 8 scoops in so long as i tap it down a couple of times!

I sterilise them jsut to make sure they are clean and then dry them off with kitchen towel - been doing that since cole was small and we've never had a problem. i think the main purpose of sterilising is to get rid of all the milk bacteria so once this is done i don't bother trying to keep stuff sterile
