Subject : NEWBORN DISCHARGE CHECKS - WHAT DID YOU GET?

Dear All,

Im looking for your support, my son ethan was born with 3 cardiac defects that were only picked up due to our hospital doing an oxygen saturation test on ALL NEWBORNS before discharge.

If this hadnt have been picked up he wouldnt be here, he would have died at home that night.

ONE IN 120 NEWBORNS BORN WITH CARDIAC DEFECTS It is the most common birth defect.

Sorry if this sounds bad but all I ask is to safeguard all newborns..

It costs them NOTHING, it doesnt hurt (just the little glowy light on finger) takes 2 seconds and picks up lots all heart problems..

ONE IN 120 NEWBORNS BORN WITH CARDIAC DEFECTS ... they do the gutherie test to pick up a very very rare problem yet lots of trusts are reluctant to do this.

We are trying to start a national campaign to get EVERY trust to do this - you wouldnt beleive the amount of parents that dont get this and their baby ends up collapsed in heart failure in the back of an ambulance - please dont let it be your baby ..

I would appreciate if you could let me know if your newborn had this test and if so which hospital you were at x

thank you very very much with your help. xx any questions dont hesitate to contact me xx again sorry if this has upset anyone - this is not my intention just to try and help...

ANY WORRIES ABOUT YOUR CHILD GO TO YOUR GP UNTIL THEY LISTEN!!
