Subject : 3 yr old saying silly things...

hiya ladies

have nipped over from pregnancy site.

just wondered how you have managed with toddlers being cheeky.

my 3 yr old is copying everything he hears. he keeps calling everyone 'silly' or 'young man' !!

he heard my hubby call someone a 'muppet' the other day while driving and when i took him to the shop he called the cashier a silly muppet!!! i could have died!!! she laughed thank god but i dont know what to do. if i ignore him he keeps saying it. if i telly him hes naughty he cries and says no im a good boy. he hates being told hes naughty because to be truthful, hes never naughty. its just this repetative silly language.

whats the best way to go about it???

he copies things he hears off TV too, and i'm talking Thomas the Tank so hardly hardcore. telling people to buzz off!!!!!! aaaagggghhhhh.

thanks xx

lol - its funny when you hear other kids doing it, my lo is only 13 month so not at that stage quite yet, thank god!

My mum told me when i was little i swore like a trooper, and there was this very large lady and i said oh look at that fat bast**d so can you imagine how my mum felt!

he isn't really being bad is he, do you find it funny? have you ever laughed at him? i know when Lewis smacked me one on the face i laughed coz i got such a shock and coz he thought it was funny he done it again and he has done it to a few people since (grannies)!

he is just learning and muppet is an ace word i use that quite alot coz there are alot of muppets going about lol - just ignore him or just say well done thats a new word - he isn't swearing (yet) so it isn't that bad

LOL my 3 year old is an absolute mightmare for saying it how it is. The other day we were in the park and there was a litlle girl who was quite overweight there. Alice then pipes up with "mummy that girl is really fat" I wished the ground would swallow me up, her grandmother gave me the most evil look ever, so i said to alice that it wsnt kind to say things like that as it could upset the little girl, slice just said "yes but she is fat though isnt she mummy". Children are far too truthful for my liking at times. When I was getting her changed after swimming the other day, there was a little boy running naked round the changing room so Alice anounced that he had a willy, not too bad untill she said his willy is little, my daddy has a big hairy willy. dont you just love em xxxx

my 3 year old LO heard another lady telling her daughter off. the lady turned to her daughter and said "if you dont do as i say i will smake your arse".
so as you can imagine my daughte now goes around saying she is going to smake peoples arse's! we have got over this by replacing the word "arse" with bottom.
admittidly not a nice thing to be saying but at least the latter is abit more poilet!
i wouldnt worry they will grow out of it. my LO says things are silly and she also says "come along woman!" when we are driving and have to stop behind another car (think she got that from daddy!!)

lol arent kids great at saying the worst thing possable at the worst time.
my oh and i was taking our daughter to pre-school and we usally see a police woman standing nere the school gates. any way as we were walking past my daughter shouted out" look daddy theres the police lady that wants to kiss you". me, my oh and the police lady had a good laugh at this. but every time we see her my daughter still shouts that "the police lady wants to kiss daddy". my daughter has also told her teachers that her daddy has a big, hairy willy. and has also grandma (my mum) where she keeps her flying monkeys(i could of killed my oh for saying that to our daughter). x.
