Subject : What's morning sickness like for you?
Most other people seem to be experiencing `proper' morning sickness where they're actually sick... Don't get me wrong I'm quite glad that's not happening to me (or at least it isn't yet!) I just wanted to get a feel of what's normal for morning sickness?
For me it's more like feeling travel sick... so a kind of sicky heady feeling that comes at any point in the day. It does make me feel really rough and seems to come in waves. I've been trying to eat something every hour or two and that seems to help. I'm just a bit worried that I'm not feeling worse or being sick properly (I'm 7 weeks).
It would really help to know how morning sickness is affecting you ladies too....

Mine is better now, but for me it was all day every day. This time round though, I’d have a good day followed by a bad day then back to good etc. A good day I just felt sick or was just sick once, a bad day sick all day. For me it felt like I was hung-over, cloudy head, weak etc. There’s no right or wrong for how morning sickness should take effect, some don’t even get it. I really wouldn’t worry about how you’re feeling or not being sick. It sounds normal (even though that’s a contradiction, as morning sickness takes all shapes and forms). Hope you feel better x x x

Mine has been quite bad however im carrying twins and they say its twice as bad, 2 incidents stick out, 1. when i was driving to work and had to stop the car, 2. spent ages hunched over toilet bowl on sunday morning (when I should of been having a lie in). It does seem to have eased off slightly now tho.

Hi handbag
I've only been sick a couple of times with my morning sickness. I eat every couple of hours and try to sick to blander foods, other than marmite (which I've gone off a bit now).
Mine sickness peaks if I don't eat frequently and get hungry, when I'm in the car and when I get tired! I've discovered in the past week that it can also go for days then come back!!

Like you I have barely suffered, had a couple of odd times when I have felt a bit queasy but nothing bad enough for me to put my head over the toilet. Like Em I'm also carrying twins and they say sickness is usually worse with them but I'm doing well. I find a moderate amount of regular exercise keeps the symptoms at bay too as the couple of days I felt rough was when I hadn't done any exercise for almost a week!
I think we should just be grateful that we are the lucky ones :-)

Agree, good explanation Guineapig!
My morning sickness has not been good either - had it all day and through the nights too. Mainly nausea (luckily only been sick once).
OH has been lovely and bought me a couple of pg books - was surprised to read that morning sickness is classed as both being sick and/or nausea (I thought you had to actually be sick).
Have been off work for the last 2 weeks because I'm feeling so crappy (as well as the morning sickness, I'm feeling very fragile and exhausted which isn't good for commuting into London) - I know it's normal to feel this way but I can't help feeling guilty about being off work and not coping better (especially when I read that other mums are pg and looking after other lo and/or working too!).
I hope everyone's feeling better soon. x

Thanks everyone for putting my mind at rest! Maybe like andi says we should just be thankful our sickness isn't worse! To all of you who are really suffering I hope it dies down soon.... in the meantime ginger tea or pretty much anything with ginger is meant to help! xx

hello! i've been quite lucky in that i've only really started getting nausea in the last few days, and even then im still able to eat and not being physically sick. just feel a bit light headed & my stomachs sort of churning. either way, its still not nice... i thought i'd managed to get away with it, am 10 weeks now so thought that I would have got it earlier on?
