Hey girls just wanted to share my excitement with you all, went to the hospital today to see the midwife and have my 16 week check up, she was lovely and was in there about an hour! We went through all my blood test results and i had new blood tests for spina bifida and downs, we also got to listen to our baby's heartbeat for the first time, which was just soo amazing and i wanted to listen to it all day!! it was so reasurring to know that the baby is still there!!! My scan at ten weeks now seems so long ago! The only bad side is i have to go back to the hospital again next week to see the consultant as i have been suffering with bad headaches! Hope all goes well with your 16 week check ups! xx

Glad all went well and its lovely to hear the heartbeat.
had my 16 week check up and a scan too(because of my diabetes). saw the baby moving and got another picture. apparently the placenta is in front of baby so movements are not so easy to feel.
end of month is my 20 week scan and i cant wait as its my birthday too!

I had my check up on tuesday and it was so exciting to hear the heartbeat. Like you it made me realise that there is def a baby in there!

Counting down the days to scan on the 30th july!

I'm feeling a little left out... I don't get a 16 week check up!!! I am still waiting to hear from the consultant, if I haven't heard anything in 2 weeks, I have to phone the hospital to make sure they know about me!!!

Gives you lots of confidence doesn't it???

so glad everyone has had good apps. sara i dont get a 16 weeks app either so have to wait until 4th aug for 20 weeks app.

Me neither i didnt get a 16 wk checkup, had one at 13 wks then next one at 20 wks on the 30th july, perhaps it depends were you live for the amount of care you get!!!

i got a date scan then the only checkup for 16 weeks for me is a whole bunch of blood tests and a quick heart beat listen, this is next tues. No scan at this stage. We are lucky in my area to get a 20 week health scan as they did stop them for a time unless it was medically necessary you had to pay otherwise. Most of my stuff is done at the gp's and only will go to hospital for any scans, which suits me for time and travel etc. enjoy your 20 week checkups though it will fly by after then especially if you all find out what you are having, i dont think we are finding out.

I didn't have a 16 week check-up but I did have one at 14+2 and heard the heartbeat then. Seems like forever away until my scan at 21+1 but am feeling fairly happy that things are ok because I feel movement most days
