Subject : Light at the end of the tunnel (if you'll pardon the pun!)

Hi everyone,

Well I'm still here! Now 6 days overdue. WhateeeEver!

I had a stretch and sweep and Wednesday and was told my cervix was quite tubular and there was no sign of baby appearing. Evil

I have been back to the ante-natal day unit today for BP check and monitoring (BP was high on Wed) but it is fine today. Smile

So the plan is for me to go back to the ante-natal day unit on Monday for a 2nd stretch and sweep (I can hardly wait as I'm still sore from the last one!) and then discuss being induced wth the consultant on Monday if my BP is up or Wednesday as I will be 12 days overdue by then! Surprised

I'm at the stage now where I think they'll have to drag this one out kicking and screaming all the way!!! LOL!

Wish me luck (I think I'm going to need it!)...x

Ahh, good luck hun.
I am seeing my consultant on Weds to try and get a sweep arranged for my due date which is 12 days away, simply because I am measuring at 42 weeks and if she hasn't come by then there is no way i can go another 2 weeks!
So so so uncomfortable in every way at the mo as she is soooo huge!
Lets keep our fingers crossed you go into labour before Monday then...
Get some pineapple, have some hot baths and sex and hot food.....blah blah...... none of it probably works but a combination of it all, you never know!
I am off to get my pineapple thisafternoon!!

Good luck, can't wait for your birth story.

Rachel.
38+2. xx

Thanks ladies,

What is it about the words "try to relax" that makes every muscle within 100 yards contract! Surprised

I'm praying to every higher being ever heard of for a bit of sympathy and, even if I have to wait until Monday morning, let me go into labour spontaneously! WhateeeEver!

Good luck and I hope things get moving for us all soon...x

I am fed up too. After being told I would have my baby before 38 weeks I think I will now go over due. I haven't had a twinge since my panic at about 36/37 weeks. My midwife is on holiday for two weeks and yesterday I saw one who made me feel rubbish 'cos I didn't want to breast feed. I see another different one next Thursday. Not happy bunny! I want this baby out!

Hi Louise,

Bless you! It's so hard when you feel like that isn't it?

Everyone kept saying to me about baby coming early and I went through a stage at around 37 weeks where I was sooooooooo desperate for her to be born. I then woke up one morning and had come to terms with the fact that she would probably be overdue (like her big brother - who now seems like an angel only being 4 days late!). WhateeeEver!

But it's so hard when you just want to get on with giving birth and meeting your new baby. You just want to get on with the changes that are going to happen in your life rather than being in limbo. Confused

Remember it's your body and your baby so you have to do what is right for you; if you've chosen not to breast feed then that's up to you so don't feel bad.

Take care of yourself and I'll keep my fingers crossed that your baby isn't as stubborn as mine...x WhateeeEver!
