Subject : Overwhelmed by cloth nappy choices

Where do you start and how do you decide which ones to use? I'd like to make the switch to cloth nappies for my 14 month old. I'd like to start soon and have some kind of washing routine established before his twin siblings arrive this winter. So, if someone could point me in the right direction where I can start to learn about all the different kinds, and what I should be looking for, it would be very much appreciated.

Oooooooh my favourite subject LOL!

Websites I've used have been www.babykind.co.uk, www.kittykins.co.uk and www.twinkleontheweb.co.uk

Read through the information in this forum as well, I'm sure there will be answers to your questions! Anything specific you want to know? It's such a minefield I wouldn't know where to begin advising you from scratch as I'm only just getting my head around it myself, any questions tho and I'll do my best Smile

Ooooh, I've just ordered some new wraps off www.twinkleontheweb.co.uk - Nature Babies popper ones, can't wait to get them as they are very snazzy patterns/pictures on them!
I would recommend you using Tots Bots Bamboozles or Nature Babies Lovables pre-shaped nappies & with either of these I would use Nature Babies popper wraps. I use both of these but mainly terry squares but with a toddler & twins on the way I think terry squares would be too time consuming.
If you have the budget then Fuzzi Bunz are a great nappy to use but I find them very pricey & I didn't have the budget to buy these :( - I only had one! lol!
& as for liners - I buy Boots nappy liners which are nice & cheap & I buy them with my Advantage card points!
With your 14 month old I would start them on a potty so you don't use as many nappies & being in washables they will know more when wet/dirty so should hopefully make potty training easier...I started my LO on the potty from 10 months & he has taken to it fine, my sister says I'm psychologically damaging him! So I took a picture of him on it, smiling away & emailed it to her (she lives in France) as proof he loves it - a great pic for his 18th birthday party me thinks! lol! I'm so evil! lol!
Enjoy choosing & let us know what you get!
