Subject : What do you do wen you go out???
Hi Ladies,
Me and hubby wanted to go out shopping in a week or so wen baby will be just over two wks old. Is this too early? Wen was you first trip out with newborn?
The other thing I wanted to now was how you wud feed a newborn wen out, do you take cartons or a pre made bottle of formula? Our baby is feeding about every 2 to 2 1/2 hrs.
I gave birth a wk ago, so have been home, and I really want to take lo out and about. But am panicking about feeding her.
Any advice???

I think Zara's 1st trip was when she was a few days old & she went to the mother & toddler group in our village with her big sister. I have a phil & ted travel bottle & I can honestly say that it is one of the most used items of baby equipment that I have & I would be lost without it. Its called the shakeaway latte. Here is the link below xx

Hi,
I have been out and about with my little boy, just to shops etc, however we went out for lunch last Friday and I took ready made cartons and used those. I felt so proud of myself feeding him in pizza express!!!
I have driven on my own with him for the first time today too, so I am starting to feel like I am gettign there and I am slowly ready to take him out into the world!! I take him out for a walk in the pram most days too.
thing is, just do it at your own pace, my baby is 23 days old and I am only now feeling ready.

Hi Click,
I did think about taking cartons, but my lo is only having about 60ml of milk per feed, shes 10 days today, so that means I wud hav to throw away the rest of the carton. I dont mind doing this occasionally but I hate to waste.
If you use cartons, how long will your bottles stay sterilised?
Thanks for your advice.

With my first two children where born our first ourtings were with in the first few days, with this little one we will be taking it on a 200+ mile trip to my parents when it will be just 4 weeks old.
as for feeding i have always done the same thing, fill two bottles with boiled watter and let it cool like you would when making normal bottles intill it gets to the right temp then put them in a baby bottle thermabag, the put the measuerd out powder in baby milk powder dispensers, you can get these as individal ones or one with three compartments for three bottles worth of powder measured seperatly. then when the little one needs fed all you need to do is take out a bottle and the pre weighed powder, shake and feed.

Hi jodie,
thanks for your advice, i use tommee tippee bottles, do i have to get thermal bags especially for these bottles?
And once the water is at right temp, does it stay at that temp in the thermal bags?
