Subject : Weekly update w/c 30th June

Hi mums and bumps, thought I'd start off this weeks update as I think Lainer is off again, besides, I'm in work and don't have much on so figured I may aswell come on BE lol

I'm 20+3 and have my scan tomorrow woo hoo can't wait Razz We'll hopefully be finding out what flavour we're having but the last few scans we've had the baby has had its legs crossed so I've warned Dan not to get his hopes up just incase we can't find out.

I've had a good and bad weekend, good because we've ordered the nursery furniture and bought our travel system; we spent saturday afternoon putting the travel system together and having a play with it lol It's weird to think that one day our baby is going to be using it! We spent yesterday emptying out the spare room ready for painting it next weekend and we got rid of loads of stuff that we don't need anymore so took that to the tip.

I've had a bad weekend because I've been in absolute agony, I've had a constant headache which I can't shift and I'm suffering with really bad hip pain which is sending pains down my leg and round in to my bum cheek so it's been a real nightmare trying to get comfy in bed, I've hardly had any sleep. I'm seeing my midwife in a couple of weeks time so will mention the hip pain to her then.

I've also had really tender boobs and I was sat on the settee with Dan on saturday and my nipple was really hurting me so I grabbed my boob to have a look and clear white fluid started to seep out of my nipple Surprised I freaked out a bit as it was a bit of a surprise but then I spent the rest of the weekend squeazing my nipples to see if any more liquid would come out LOL! It actually relieved the tenderness in my boobs so I might speak to my midwife about expressing to stop the tenderness, obviously the only problem with that is the fact that it's supply and demand isn't it?! So the more I express the more I produce!

Anyway, enough about me. Can't wait to hear about everyone else's news.

Em xxx

LOL hun, that made me laugh - I dunno, spending the wkend playing with yourself!!!!! hehehe

What time is ur scan hun? Mine's tomorrow too (YAY) at 1.45pm UK time.

Had a good tiring wkend......apart from the driving but it was worth it! Visited some friends, took our kids to meet them too.......and their 2 dogs, cat and rabbit!! Kids had a ball, behaved really well (our friend kept saying she couldn't believe that there had been 4 extra kids at hers all wkend - she has 2 of her own!), and both me and dh had a thoroughly good time too!

My girls have started their summer hols now - it's a month earlier in Holland (grrrrr). Although it's a bit of a pain, the good thing is we don't have to rush around quite so much 1st thing in the mornings!! Also, we're starting to get stuff packed in boxes, throw stuff away etc. DH is in England next week, Tues - Thurs and will hopefully get to visit a cpl of letting agents and maybe a cpl of properties too.

Will post tomoro, hopefully with news of pink or blue..........if baby plays nice Happy

Take Care all,
xxx

Hi everyone,

\I'm 21+4 today only 129 days to go!!!! In some ways I feel like I've been pregnant forever although on the other hand it doesn't feel like that long ago my countdown thing was saying 229 days, really glad to be past the halfway point - it's like the end is in sight.

I was ment to go to the Nelson Mandella concert at hyde park on Fgriday but decided it wasn't a great idea so I gave the tickets to my mum and they had a great time.

Me and oh spen the day shopping in Chester and got loads and loads of baby stuff, i think we're pretty much sorted now other than some bedding and stocking up on toiletries and stuff. Still no double glazing in so cant start to decorate yet :( The guy is comming to measure and order the windows in the next couple of days so hopefully they'll be in within the next couple of weeks - I cant wait to get some paint on the walls and a new carpet in.

The kicks are comming thick and fast now, oh thought he felt it lastnight as well which is great, I've bought a doppler wich is great to play with - oh hadn't heard it before.

Bump is gettting huge - oh's sister is due in 3 weeks and I'm almost as big as her (although she's measuring quite small for dates) it also may have something to do witht the entire pot of Hagan Daz I demolished the other night.

Hope everyone's well xx

Morning,

Everything is going ok this week. Been to see physio (see other thread) Don't wait a couple of weeks to see the midwife Tequila. Call her to talk to her about it now or see your GP.

The 20 scan appointment has come through and I have to go to the main hospital for it. I was told it was going to be at the birthing centre, but they must be too busy.

Anyway, we should know what we are having on the two weeks today. I started off thinking it was a girl and now I am convinced it is a boy.

Hope everyone has a good week.

Hi All,

Tequila - you've just made me wince like mad at the story of your sore boob - ooooooooooooowwwwwwch!!!!! Also, your hip pain doesnt sound great - perhaps you should raise it sooner than when you next see your midwife - particularly if you end up with a referral to a physio, they can sometimes take a while to come through. I had some pelvic pain and spoke to my midwife on the phone about it - that was enough to get a referral.

Well we;ve had a very productive weekend... and the credit card has taken a severe beating... items purchased include

pram
cot
changing table
baby monitor
travel cot (started to get ridiculous at this point...!!)
baby bath
some lovely cuddle towels (with ears, ;o) )
a box of lovely smelling johnsons stuff - am tempted to use myself!!

So i feel v satisfied (if not a bit poor) and our house is now a complete tip with boxes of stuff everywhere... nursery painting is starting today, my hubby has a day off work. Its v exciting!

We've kind of decided on the name Charlie for our little boy - everyone is now referrring to him as Charlie so I doubt we'll changed our minds!! My mum keeps calling him Charlie Bucket and other half calls him Charlie Mouse so I think it will stick!

He is wiggling sooo much, I am so pleased to be feeling it - as a first time mum I had no idea what to expect and I love knowing that he is happily dancing round in my belly... although true to form I had a moment of anxiety last night when I decided perhaps he was moving too much and it was a sign of a problem... bloody ell... I've always got to find something to worry about!!

Anyway, have a good week everyone... time seems to be really flying....xx

PS Is anyone reading the Contented Little Baby book by Gina Ford? I've just started reading it and so far am quite impressed by what she has to say...

Hi all November Gals

OMG another week gone by! time seens to be going much faster now. 22 weeks tomorrow!
Just had nice sunny weekend away, took my four year old out to Beckonscot Model Village for the day on Sunday. He really enjoyed it, especially all the trains! He has always been mad on Thomas the Tank!
I have also been having a touch of hip pain on left side, found myself waddling/hobbling around town on Mr Lainers arm earlier today. I have put it down to all the ligaments in the pelvis getting a bit lax in preparation, although don't remember it this early on last time! I find sleeping with a pillow under bump/between knees helps me at night. so might be worth a try for others.
Feeling really huge at the moment, had scan last friday (other post) Measured two weeks bigger than dates, so that might account for why. I may end up with an October birth at this rate, as due date is Nov 4th.
My feet have also been getting a bit puffy in the evenings, especially on these hot days. I found some lovely cooling minty foot spray in Boots which feels divine!
I have a midwife appointment on thursday at Health Centre and have been saving up questions to ask, hopefully i will remember them all!
Hope everyone else has a good week!

Lainer

(tequila - hope the boobers are ok!! I had a chukkle as I read, the indignities we women have to suffer!!)

On the plus side my pelvic pain has eased slightly yipee!! Yeah girls if you are having problems put a pillow between your legs at night i find it really helps.

Hello ladies-
still worried about the scan last week but getting mixed messages so trying to relax about it.
Lots more movement if I sit still but have been really busy so not getting much chance.
Have been getting a bit more nausea again but think I've eaten too much- my bump is HUGE and I'm only 21 weeks. Am going to look at my holiday sheet and try and schedule a day a fortnight off to catch up on jobs.

Hi, I'm getting lots of movements & have very sore/sensitive nipples which seem to be permantly erect!? I slapped my hubby cuz when I tweaked his nipples he went at me cuz he forgot & it really hurt so he got a beating! lol!...my boobs feel very heavy but luckily haven't started to leak yet, they leaked during my first pregnancy & then the heavens opened after I gave birth!
My bump has started to go firm sometimes which I find interesting as I like to prod and feel to see how much is bb bump & how much is slack muscles!
I'm convinced I'm having a girl this time, just a gut feeling - I don't care what I have but with my first I had a gut feeling it was a boy & was right so I can't wait to find out on the 21st July, hubby says he does want to find out now!

hi all,

tequila- i would also say speal to midwife asap. it may be a condition like i explained in lower back pain topic called pelvic girdle pain. it is very common in pregnancy. if you speak to the midwife she can refer you for physio and also see about support belts. aquanatal is also highly recommended. if you google it there is lots of info on it. its normally mistaken for sciatica but this condition is fairly uncommon in pregnancy.

Anyway i am 22 weeks on thurs. bp returned to a normal level now and also no more protein in urine. been back at work since last week. i was tearing my hair out at home. i have the above conditon (pgp) which is causing agony as my job as a nurse is very physical but its ok. i have a high pain threshold so i'll cope til i can see physio.

apart from that all is fab. i am loving it all. cant believe i only have 18weeks left. time seems to be disappearing and fast.

I cleared out the babies room on sunday and we are decorating it this weekend. i cant wait. then all we have left to get is the cot and monitors. i have to be nice and organised though as i am getting married a month after baby due so have all that going on too.

Anyway nice to hear everyone is doing well. have a good week and take care.

xxxx

Hiya girls!
Well i havent been on for ages! I love these little updates! they are brilliant. Well I felt baby move first time a couple of weeks ago and now its constant (Week 19) and actually making me feel a little sick!!!! eeek! Im very squimish at the moment, something the pregnancy has brought on... so i think its that! But its still a reassuring little feeling, feel bad on DH as he is desperate to start feeling the baby himself - bless. Loved the pictures of the bumps on the other post... although mine is actually tiny in comparison! Im not going to worry, just be grateful - lol!

Got the scan next week, put up some swatches for the nursery and hopefully in the next 6 weeks we will be able to get on and buy 'proper' baby bits instead of just grows etc... ive picked my travel system, nursery room set and also themes so im ready and set to get moving but DH wants to finish up other bits and pieces in the house first....

Other than that.. i feel the same as some of you other ladies.. feel likes it be ages since ive been pg! but then also - eeeek!! we're half way through ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy your week! looking forward to more reveals on the bump colours!!

Hi Ladies, I can't believe another week has gone by! I'm 22 weeks tomorrow (it does seem to be going faster now). Hubby and I have been off all week and in a moment of madness he decided he was going to paint the hall, stairs and landing. It was badly in need of doing (we'd done everywhere else but left this until last. He's glossing as we speak (bless him). As I've not been allowed to paint I have been 'mucking out'. Had a right good clear-out downstairs, need to start upstairs next. Bought the pamper nappies in Boots (to get the free changing bag) but still not bought anything else (can't wait to get going). Have chosen buggy, car seat etc and have a good idea of colours for nursery so once I'm 'allowed' they'll be no stopping me (hubby says 24-25 weeks and we can make a start). Bump has moved up and is really obvious now (good job I told the rest of my work colleagues before I broke up last week as I'll be going back in maternity wear lol). So excited to have felt the first proper kicks on Tuesday night and hubby felt too. I had been feeling 'bubbling' for a week or so but nothing he could experience until then. He put his hand on my belly and got a right good kick (felt round, like a heal). So excited, feeling good (although tired and everything is clicking!). Good to hear everyone's news. Enjoy your week. Julie x

Hey girls Smile Well I've had a shit week! Sad This was Sunday when I was ranting.....

I'm aware this probably sounds incredibly selfish but I'm abit pissed off! I've got a urine infection and have spent the last 4 days being bounced back and forth between my gp and a&e with no-body able to make a decision about what to do with me,,,

My gp has been telling me I've pulled a muscle, Friday at A&E I was told there wasnt any antibiotics safe for use in pregnancy. We have gone back today because I've been feeling sick, in the night I had a temperature and not to mention the pain! And surprise surprise, I do have an infection. The A&E doctor was told by his senior that Amoxacillin was best but as I'm allergic to Penicillin (same group of drug) I had to be transferred upto the ante-natal ward for monitoring whilst I was given it. I was seen up there by a lovely midwife who confirmed that the baby was fine Smile Then another doctor came in to tell me there was a different type of antibiotic she would prefer to give me and this meant I could go home. She took vaginal swabs to make sure nothing else was going on and let me come home with an appointment to see my consultant in a week.

Do you know what my in-laws have said?! 'well as long as the baby is ok, thats all that matters' obviously yes the baby is the first priority, but no sympathy for me, no concern that I'm ok.... I'm tired, I've spent the last 4 nights sitting on the loo weeing every 5 minutes, baby isn't lying in the best position which doesn't help with the pain I'm having, I'm sore, I have horrible backache, I'm sore underneath after having the swabs taken (like having a smear) and not one ounce of fecking sympathy for their DIL!!! [/color]

Things haven't really got much better Sad Had my routine antenatal check yesterday, which still showed traces of infection despite four and half days of antibiotics. I went to the maternity unit today as not feeling any better and still getting stinging pains when I pass urine.... I still have an infection, so different type of antibiotic. Luckily the vaginal swabs are clear, which would have made an interesting discussion with my hubby as they were testing me for STD's amongst other things and he's my first serious relationship Surprised LOL!

I mentioned whilst I was there that I'm not really feeling kicks, not like you girls... still flutters and bubbles (I'm 22+1) and its making me paranoid & nervous, so they examined me and traced the heartbeat and all is well, whilst the midwife was listening she picked up lots of kicks on the trace but I couldn't really feel them Confused Though I have had flutters this evening, I tend to feel them more sat at my computer when I'm sat upright and straight with my tummy against my waistband....

MIL has NOT been in contact with me all week or even ask hubby how I am, which has really upset me especially as I am feeling quite poorly.... Just confirms that as long as all is well with sprog, she doesn't need to give 2 shits about me Sad She doesn't know I saw midwife yesterday or that I went back to the ward today for a new prescription and to send off a fresh sample as I don't see why I should give her a running commentary on how I am when she cba to pick up the phone and see for herself Mad

And I'm so tired, I'm drinking so much water to flush the infection out I'm spending even more time on the loo in the night Sad

Sorry for offloading, feeling really sorry for myself now I've sat down and written it all out Frown On the plus side though our baby is ok! Our pram and cot are ready for collection, the balance paid off in full now so they're ours when we want them and I've started to order my cloth nappies, first lot came today Happy

Speak to you all next week, take care xxx

Awww hun, u have been thru it this week - **big hug** from me Happy

Regarding not feeling much in way of kicks - have they mentioned at any scan whether ur placenta is forward rather than back? Mine is high and to the back which is why I feel quite a lot. Just wondered if thats why u can't feel a great deal atm? Glad they did a trace for you thou, that must be re-assuring that u can concentrate on getting better and not worry bout baby too!! It's horrid being ill when pg isn't it :(

I'm hating being ill atm it seems so much worse than pre-pregnancy Frown I'm really clingy to hubby as well, don't like him going out without me - think it's just cause I feel so rotten Sad No-one has said anything to me about my placenta, but will ask when I see my consultant on Weds.

I have a history of uti and at my 15 wk check he made some comments about me taking a low dose for the duration of my pregnancy if I had one.... so need to speak to him about that and see what he says. Different doctors say different things though, the ones I saw last week were all making idle remarks about admitting me for IV antibiotics should things not improve, but then today it wasn't deemed necessary Confused

Oh MrsT really feel for you hun. Wish I could take the infection away for you.
I'm sure you'll start to feel more movement-could be your tummy muscles are better than the other girls. Kepp your chin up and don't worry about being clingy- I think it's natural.

I'm 19 weeks today! Feeling LO flutter around all of the time now, and a bump seems to have popped out from nowhere. My boobs have also started leaking during the night - oh the joys! Surprised

Still haven't sold our house, its been up for sale for 8 weeks now, and we've only hd 3 viewings. I'm having sleepless nights over not selling and having to stay here, so i think were going to reduce the price on tuesday Sad and see if that entices people throught he door.

I'm looking forward to next weekend, because it's my hubbys birthday and our 1st wedding anniversary and were going to a spa for the whole day, and then i only have to wait 3 days for my 20 week scan. whoo hoo

hi everyone, well everything seems to be going well (touch wood!), im 20+2 and am now starting to feel definate movement, my hubby felt his first movement to when he had his hand on my tummy so that was really lovely! My bump seems to have popped out within the last week and people keep checking with me that im not having twins which is making me a little paranoid. I go to weekly aqua-natal classes which are great fun and a good way to meet others mums to be.

I still continued to feel tired and sometimes my bump feels soooo heavy, dread to think how i'll feel as i get bigger!!! Im also getting so discomfort in my hips when im in bed which is interupting my sleep, grrrrr. but all in all i musn't grumble things are good. I've got my scan on Tues, we're going to find out (only coz hubby is desperate to) but are gonna keep it a secret - but will tell you girls. xx
