Subject : my first trip to A&E

my poor lil boy (17mo) has to have stitches!!!!
we went to my grandma's yesterday for a birthday party and he fell over outside and hit his head on a concrete step!!! blood everywhere :( i think i was more upset than him though, he was singing and laughing on the way to hospital LOL
anyway coz of his age he's gonna have to have a general anesthetic to get his stitches in :( so i'm really worried about it!! this also means he's not been allowed to have anything to eat or drink this morning.

wish me luck for today! xx.

don't you wish you could just wrap them up in cotton wool so they don't get hurt?

Bless you hun,it's awful when they hurt themselves isn't it,you wish you could take the pain awayfor them!
Children are very resilient (sp) things and i'm sure he'll be fine. My lo had to have a general anesthetic when he was 9 months old as he had a hernia and he was absolutely fine.
Good luck today, let us know how it goes.x

Awww good look hun
My son was 18 months when he fell over the back step and slammed into another door. He had to go to hospital as there was blood everywhere and he was hysterical. Only had glue and some steri strips though and he's been left with a scar above his eye brow bless him.
It's very scarey hun isn't it when these things happen? Only thing i didn't like was the amount of questions i was asked about how it happen. It made me feel as though he was a battared chld lol.
He's 4 now and i havent been to a&e since but he is still very clumbsy
x

your so right we could just rap them in cotton wool and be done with it. luckily weve been quite lucky with chloe but she is so clumsy and we have had so many near misses. i know its just a matter of time. but you right we do seem to take it worse than them.

how is he. hope everything went ok.xxx

thanx everyone all went well and i'm glad its over!
he was so good yesterday, he ended up needing gas to put him to sleep but he has only 'out' for about 45mins. he needed 7 stitches and all he wanted to do when he woke up was eat and drink everything in sight, bless him.
only have to go back next week to get it checked and thats that. he's gonna have a scar though its quite high up his hair coves it.

the thing is he's such a daredevil i doubt it'll be his last time in hospital, even though this accident was caused by his tripping over. i'm gonna have grey hair by the time i'm 25 LOL (in 3 weeks time!!)
