Subject : What age did you put your child in a bed

My daughter is 18 months old and has been walking for over a month. We went away and we forget the travel cot so she slept on a z bed. She slept really well in it and didn't wake all night. She was back in her cot when we got home and she wakes a few times a night (just put her dummy in and she goes straight back to sleep).

Millie is quite petite. So I worry about her falling out although the bed we have for her as side bits at the top

How old was your little one when you put her in a bed. I am 3 months pregnant with number 2 so want to get her out of the cot in good time for number 2!

Thanks Smile

hi

i put my daughter in her big bed when she was about 20 months but i wanted to put her in earler but her bed room was still been decorated and she was staying in our room but she has slept better in her bed than she did in her cot my daughter is small for her age but she loves it i am expecting another baby so i am like you i think the earler you do it the better it is for you so you don't have to worry when your closer to the end of your pregnancy

im now trying to potty train my daughter so i don't have to worry about it when i have another baby to look after i only have 12 weeks left to go on my pregnancy

We moved Millie at about 19 months. We were going to wait as she was quite happy in her cot but I am also expecting again (due yesterday!) and although we didn't need the cot at home we are going away in Sep and will only have one cot. She loved her bed right from the start, we've not had any problems at all and again she is quite petite for her age. One thing we did do that I think helped was to give her a quilt and pillow in her cot for a few weeks first, I think this helped make the change a bit smoother for her.

Hi, I moved my daughter to a bed when she was 22months because she fell out of her cot and didnt want to risk it again. she is now 2yrs 5months and has always loved her big bed. I never put up side rails just some cusions on the floor and she only rolled out onto them the first 2 nights. Isnt it so lovely when they get their big bed, I remember thinking at the time how shes not my little baby anymore as at that time I also took away her dummy at night xx

We changed my lo's cot bed into a cot on his 2nd birthday,he was great, the only problem was that he didn't like the pillow and duvet as he was used to sleeping in a sleeping bag,but after a couple of nights he was fine! He does have a bed guard just in case though!
We have also recently got rid of his dummy which he only used to have a night,so our little boy is not so little anymore!!

Hi, my girl has just turned 2 and is still in her cot. I'm worried she'll get out of a big bed and wander into our room any time she likes, not sure I'm ready for that. Plus we're moving house in two weeks, should we wait until we've settled in?
