I do tend to dress Millie in pink a lot but that is mostly becase the colour really suits her! Now she is bigger she tends to want to chose her own clothes and things, and she does nearly always chooses pink anyway. When it comes to toys she is a bit of a tom boy and is just as happy playing with cars and 'boys' toys than dolls. I am due again in 4 weeks, this time with a boy, and he will be treated in exactly the same way as Millie. We have all her dolls and things already and if he wants to play with those, so be it!

I like Lucas in neutral clothes because he's still wee (9 weeks) and like to dress him in yellow, blue and green too. He suits green the best. I wouldnt put him in pink...that would be a bit sick lol! Poor thing would be called a girl plus he has a boys face too so it would look silly. As for toys, we will need to wait and see but I would be more than happy to buy him a kitchen or a hoover to play with!

my sister is saving all of my neices babies & dolls incl all the pushchair & swing cribs she has from the mamas & papas toys range. IMO there is nothing wrong with boys playing with dolls & girls playing wiht trucks as eventually their own preferences will prevail.

I used to play with hand me down boys toys but eventually barbie & sindy took over. My boy cousin had a dolly called postbox (!) that was a permanant fixture for about ayear which then got discarded for a Batman suit, which he refused to take off except for baths Happy

As for clothes colours, well I have yet to see a decent boys top in pink but if I did would buy it for him, he wears a lot of red though as it really suits him & although he is now getting older, still like to put him in pastels sometimes. I do find thought hat as thye get older hte clothes choices only really come in traditional gener colours.

clothes wise i do dress lo in blue's, greens, browns etc..a bit of red n orange for a splash of colour....but anyway...i think boys should have dolls to play with and dressing up clothes etc...at work we help the little boys get into their dresses and fairy wings at dressing up time, it's just a way to help them learn and understand about the world and roles and has no reflection on their sexual preference at all when their older...i will deff allow my little boy to explore these things when he's bigger, i loved boys toys when i was younger then turned into a girly girl for a good few years...makes no difference xx

I am not bothered about toys or the colour of clothes for my son. I tend to dress him in bright funky colours as much as I can, and like someone said, if I saw a nice pink top for him I'd do it.... I do think it's fascinating watching all my new mum friends when we are all together, the girls def. get treated differently to the boys, much more delicate and fragile. We are all at the stage where they are sitting up by themselves but a bit wobbly, if a girl takes a tumble it's all "aaah poor litte whoever, are you ok?' with lots of kisses and cuddles. The boys it's 'oopsy, up you get then' and roughly plonked back on their bum!!

I dress Lola in pink, lilac, yellow and white so quite stereotypical but even though she is only 11months she has a toy garage with cars, she loves any kind of balls and has quite a few and if i have a little boy i would have no problem in buying him pink t-shirts - fred perry style, like mens t-shirts and he could have dolls and pushchairs. my brother who is now 16 had a doll, pushchair and po from the teletubbies when he was little and he is now 6 foot 4 and a prop in the rugby team and very much far from being 'gay'!!!

My boys wear all sorts of colours (apart from pink, not seen much in pink for them tbh!!) but the choice does get better when they're older. Gracie's in all sorts of colours too. Having had 2 boys 1st I thought I'd want her just in baby pink but I soon got fed up with that! She has lots of dark hair (going fairer now) so suits brighter colours, turquoises, limes, yellows, oranges, cerises but she has cute rosy cheeks so does look proper girly when in pink.
We bought ds2 a little 'baby' and bottles when I was near to having Gracie, and he still plays with it and feeds it now. They've also got a kitchen and a hoover (my hubby's main jobs are cooking and hoovering!) and I don't think they're gender-specific at all. Esp when they're green and purple in colour, wouldn't have chosen a pink one tho....!
My dd certainly won't be a dainty lil girl with her 2 big bros teaching her tricks!
