Subject : Do they give you a date?

Hi,
I am 20 weeks and will be going to see the consultant in 2 weeks as I will be having an elective c-section. Does anyone know if when you see the consultant they give you a date that you will be having the baby? I am the most organised person and I hate not knowing so it would be great for me to have a date to look forward to.

They do give you a date but I believe it is at your 36wks appointment all though you could get one sooner if you pester them for one ;)

Hi Sammie,

At my 20 week appointment we organised for me to go back at 36 weeks and discuss my situation further then. At least I've got time to see how things progress and how I'm doing healthwise.

I'm still undecided about whether or not to have a section. I like to be organised too and I'm hating the indecision, on my part, sometimes I can't sleep for worrying about it!!

All the best with you 20 week check-up,
Denise x

Hi Girls,
Thanks for the replys, I fear that 36 weeks may be to late to give me a date, as I can not have any risk of going into natural labour (long story, had a head injury when I was younger and the pressure on my head would be to much) so do you think that they will just book me in a date? Plus how am I supossed to know when to go on maternity leave if I dont have a def date?
I think I worry to much!!

I am 28 weeks and they called me last week and booked my c section day AND time. Every office is different and do things different but you can ask if you can book it now in advanced.

I had two days to choose from.

Good luck and don't let this bug you!

I'm not sure who you're asking that ? To. Lol but I'm nosie and bored...
I heard you can be in there up to 5 days.
I was in the hopsital for 2 full days, on my 3rd day, I was sent home. I think it depends on how you're healing and such. I know you can't eat until you fart. Haha so hope to have gas so you don't starve! I was so embarassed when the nurse came in and asked when I had my "last bowel movement" infront of everyone and I had to say "ohhh 5 mins ago" so everyone knew I contaminated their breathing air hahah.

Good luck my love!
