Subject : Are u in routines yet?
Just wondering if any of u are following strict routines?
Aimee is still sleeping quite a bit in the day whenever she wants, and we dont ever put her to bed before we go. Should I be setting a routine now she is nearly 9 weeks old?

our only bit of routine is that we put thomas in his cot every night between 7-8 even if he dont seem tired so that he gets to understand when bedtime is the only other thing is that we try to stick to only giving him a feed every 3-4 hours

The only routine I have is the nighttime one and it works well. During the day anything goes! He feeds when he wants since I'm bf which seems to be very frequent in the last 2 weeks especially if I dont leave the house...can even be hourly!

we haven't followed any books, but let Ruby sleep in the day when she wants, but we feed at 7,3,11 and she has settled into this really well...and is in bed after her 7pm feed.
I'm unsure what to do about the daytime sleeps, will they settle into their own rountine??

No routine at all. Just got Gina Ford sleep guide. I acually despise the woman (never met her and sure she is very nice really). One thing is she does not beleive in Colic...aggghhhhh it does exist and its awful and when someone tells you it doesnt you want to pull their eyes out! Anyway, I need to get Amelia to go down without fuss day and night. she says from 8 weeks they should and its ok to let them cry. For her first 6 weeks we had constant visitors over from UK and she was held, cuddled, rocked and put to bed asleep. Now at 12 weeks she want to fall asleep at the breast or in my arms or in car. Tonight is the first night I will put her down at 7 ish and leave her cry 5 mins then go in and continue till she asleep. Will kill me and will prob keep other 2 from sleeping as their room next to ours. Worth it though as I am spending far too much time getting her to settle. Want to have night out but cant as she is so unsettled. She rarely wakes at 10 either so need to get her to take a feed then (preferably expressed in a bottle) so I can get out now and then.
So, I will be taking bits of Gina and using them but not all of her routine as during the day with 4 others to care for I just cant fit a routine in....every day is different.

Ellie has been so colicky from birth along with thrush & the cold!! It took the first 4 weeks to get her to take more than 2oz of her bottles at a time especially when she was only feeding every 4 hours...anyway since changing the teats on her bottled (dr browns is any1 else using them?) she does seem to be getting more milk so feeds every 4 hours during the day then goes down about half 10 sleeps until between half5/6, has another bottle & goes over to sleep again for about 2-3 hours. It's great that she's sleeping so much at night but trying to get her to sleep of a day is a nightmare I need to be out & about with her in the pram for her to have a decent sleep!!! xox
