Subject : Shopping is fun!!!
Well, that was some day! Why is it babies always know how to make life hard? Well, first of all Lucas decided to do a massive poo when I was on my way to the car after going to the shops in town. I tried to change him on the back seat but he decided poo wasn't enough and peed all over the back seat soaking everything including himself! So, second outfit of the day on and off we go. We went food shopping and my OH was carrying him round when he felt something trickling down his leg...MORE POOOO!!! It went all over my hubbies legs and feet! We had to buy nappies, nappy sacks and new sleepsuits (since he had already dirtied his other outfit). I managed to clean him up and get hte new stuff on him and then my hubby left the dirty outfit in the trolley!! Noooooo!!!
Anyone else had any shopping disasters yet?

OMG sounds like a nightmare! We had the same once with our eldest when she was 6 wks old in Trafalgar sq, we changed her next to one of the lions. It was all up her back and on hubbys clothes as she was in the baby carrier!

We went out when chloe was about 3 or 4 wks old. when stopped to get petrol and she would nto stop crying. she often does this when we are stationary as she hates the car seat unless she is dead asleep. tried her dummy which normally keeps her quiet until we move again. she would nto take this at all. i figured she might need a nappy change so we popped into tesco, she'd stopped crying by this time but thought it best anyway! we get into changing room, take her out of car seat and i could feel her back was wet - she had pooed herself so bad, it was all the way up to her neck!! the movement of the car and her wriggling when crying had squelched it all the way up!!! trying to get the outfit off her was a nightmare as it was just covered in poo!! we ended up running the sink and washing her in there as we would have used a whole pack of wipes otherwise cos it was everywhere!!! didn't know whether to laugh or cry but felt so bad - no wonder she didn't want the dummy - she's saying I don't want that silly mummy - i've crapped myself - can't you tell!!!! bless. we've had a few similar ones but that was the worst appart from when she pooed all over the wall in the house!
i now keep two sleepsuits in the change bag and two vests. makes it bulky but experience tells me if it happens once it can happen again!!
we having a nightmare with chloe's poos now with this formula she is on - it is so explosive and once she starts she doesn't stop - went to change her last night after a poo - it stinks it makes you gag!! she then decided she was not finished and pooed everywhere, we ended up putting a wipe round her like a nappy and she ended up in the sink again cos she was so covered bless her!!
We now have to take chloe round the supermarket in the baby carrier cos she sleeps less now she wakes up in car seat in the supermarket and screams the place down so one of us ended up carrying her - much easier just to start this way!!!
who thought mummyhood could be dull hey!!!
great Nic isn't it!!!

lol Lara! We bought some huggies instead of pampers to see if it will contain things a little better. Lucas is still exclusively bf but his poos are now less frequent and does more at a time , more like once or twice a day rather than every second feed which it used to be. He poos for a good 5 mins!!! lol!! Leaving the house will never be the same again! Its like a milirary operation! I'm just glad I dont have bottles and formula to take too!

Just think of me Nic, def miltary operation - have to seriously think about how long we will be out for - how many feeds does that equal cos i can't just buy chloe some formula when we are out if we run out cos she is now on this special stuff and it can't be mixed with hot water either cos it goes lumpy so can't get some made while out either - takes a lot of thought and energy that's for sure - I have a special mini coolbag that i take with me as well as change bag as change bag only has room for two bottles and small ones at that!
the main prob is chloe's vary so much - sometimes hard like a adult poo which is great othertimes like really runny - you can't tell til you open the nappy and when i say it stinks I am not exagerating. when chloe was exclusively bf in first couple of weeks her's were frequent but fine, and even when on formula unless it was diarrohea but even then it was fine as it didn't smell but this is just gross and to think i have at least another 10 months of her being on this formula!!! lol!!!
We use both pampers and huggies on Chloe and can't say i have noticed any difference but give it a try!!
I have got myself into a nice little routine when it comes to going out and i now know how long she takes to get ready e.g. feed, change, bath if necessary or top n tail instead etc. I go out a fair bit with chloe and we can even get out of the house for 8.30am on a saturday morning and not be up until after 7am as well. May not be that impressive to some but is for us!!

I would too Nic, that's the really good thing about her being on the formula now, I had peanut butter the other week for the 1st time since being pg - it was heaven!! I could not do without milk tho - ice cold milk - umm!!!
It is hard work but you get used to it and fortunatley between us we are very organised and try to get stuff done the night before, even just for her!
