Your boobs will go back to normal after a week or so. The 1st few days they will feel hot & painful as your milk comes in. I just put a wet flannel on mine to help cool them. Don't try & express any milk - leave them be.
My community midwife swore by cabbage leaves put in your bra to alleviate the pain & tenderness - I never did try it though!

Savoy cabbage leaves are great! I did breastfeed and the cabbage leaves were great for when my milk came in.

My health visitor said just to leave them which I did & they dried up pretty quickly. She did say to express occassionally if you need to relieve yourself initially, just takes the pressure off.

I bottle feed. My milk came in day 3 and now my baby's a week old and its nearly gone. I hand expressed a little tiny bit every night just to take the fullness off!

For a quick and easy way to release the milk with out stimulating your breasts. fill a basin, bath, skink anything you can with warm water and put your boobs into it. this might sound strange but with in seconds the milk will start to flow out with out any help and your body wont register that the milk has been drank, this will ease the pain a lot, i done this with both of my kids. i tried putting up with the pain of them filling and a few times expressed the milk just to help but then my body started making more to make up for it. once my mum mentioned this method i never looked back it took only a matter of days before the milk dried up completely x
