Subject : Nurseries....What to ask?
Hi Ladies
Can't get my brain into gear, must be the heat. I'm going to view some nurseries this week and compling a list of questions, just interested in your suggestions of what to ask the staff when i'm there, so i don't forget anything!
Thx in advance :-)

here are some questions we asked:
- how many babies are there?
- how many babies per member of staff?
- do they provide nappies/milk/food etc.
- what activities there are? What outdoor space they have?
-what programs do they follow?
-do they accept childcare vouchers - if your employer provides the scheme?
- if the baby goes in only few days a week, how flexible are they with regards to extra sessions?
- what's their policy on late collection (sometimes there are things beyond your control - held up at work, traffic, etc...)
- where do babies sleep during the day?
- what's their policy on medication, accidents, etc.
- is there any time when nursery is closed and why?
- fees if child not in (ill, holidays, etc.)
Our nursery provides the care from 3 months to 13 years (afterschool care), so might be worth asking if they do anything like that ( if your lo likes it, you might want to continue after they start school).
I am sure there were more we asked, but can't think of them now. Hope it helps.xx

Hi hun, a lovely lady from the ttc forum let me have a list which had a load of questions about what to look out for at nurseries as she was a manger for several at one time so I'm sure she won't mind me passing the list onto you.
If you email me with your email address on the link below I will attach it for you. It was very helpful for me so am sure it will help you too.
Louise xx
