Subject : Back in reusables do to allergy to disposables

I had my lo in washables from around 6-8 weeks and used them during the week, then at night and weekends I'd put her in disposables. When Christmas came and my husband was off work for 2 weeks and doing my hands on with baby we sipped into using disposables all the time, then after that I couldn't get back into the swing of using them again so I sold all my nappies which was daft as I had a selection of around 32 real nappies. Well over the last 2/3 weeks Ellie had developed a rash on her girly bits and it didn't look like nappy rash, when I the health visitor saw it she said it looked like an allergic reaction and possibly was the pampers i was using. So I managed to get around 12 totsbots bamboozles and have put her back in washables during the day and latex free ones (lidls own) at night and her rash has cleared up. So Im really pleased about this, I now plan on replenishing my stock of nappies and need to get some sort of nappy bucket or similar to store the nappies as at the moment im putting 2/3 in a nappy sack and they are goingin her laundry basket till the next wash.

Just thought I'd let everyone know how great I now think washables are, not just because theya re more environmental friendly but because my baby has smooth pretty looking skin again and not an ugly rash all round her bits and pieces. hehe.

Glad she's better! I used reusables when Millie was little and then stopped as we went on holiday and when we came back she wouldn't wear them (stroppy little madam!) I have recently manged to get her back into them (I kept mine lol) and one of the things I am happiest about is the fact that she doesn't have all those chemicals next to her skin.

this is why we use re-usables, my first DD was allergic to all the disposable ones, so for DS and the new LO we use cotton ones.
