hi ladies can any one help for the past 4 days my lo has refused the breast he has done this in the past but only for the odd day but its lasted 4 days now i normally express when he does this but ive tried this time but cant get more than an ounce to 2 ounces altogether from botrh boobs im worried that im gonna dry up and then he will decide to have breast again help he is waking in the night due to hunger and chewing fist but just refuses point blank not to have it wot do i do x

Sorry I'm not going to be the greatest help, my lo stopped breast feeding at this age, she just sort of slowly weaned herself of the breat and I saw it as a natural progression. Do you think that milk supply is drying up? When you've expressed before have you always got a lot more? Maybe that's why he's not feeding from you - it seems like a lot of hard work for little reward! I didn't think that by 11 months babies should be hungry in the night? I think your first port of call should be your hv, maybe she could refer you to a breat feeding councilor (sp?). Until then if you want to keep your supply going I'd keep expressing lots in order to try to get your body to produce more. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

hi el mac in the past ive been able to express at least 5 / 6 ounces at a time which is why i was thinking mayb things r drying up but just dont want lo to b unpset if he chnages his mind and there is nothing there both my other 2 girls i fed upto a year then started to wean them off which they didnt like so this is all strange having a baby that refuses
