I remember those last few weeks of work they were definitely the worst, its really hard trying to concentrate on work all my thoughts were consumed with my baby!
Im now back at work having had 10 months off but luckily could go back part time, i went back in Jan which was hard at first but getting used to it now.
I do apologise because as Holly (Kyan2012) will vouch for me, im party to waffling at times!
Im with you on the lazy day thing its actually quite peaceful at mo, girls are playing quietly upstairs (for now) and Freddie is asleep, hence me being able to write on here!
My oh is doing our food shopping online, how lazy is that? but one thing we hate doing with all 3 children is trekking round supermarkets!
I think its a good idea waiting til you see your baby before you name him, its hard to imagine what they look like and when you get to finally meet them a name does tend to fit if that makes sense!
Do you intend to visit the site often? Youl have to keep us informed how your pregnancy and then birth (when you have time) goes!

Its ok..I can waffle too!!

I agree, I just don’t want to be at work any more, its so hard to concentrate on work..my mind is on my baby!! Also it is getting really uncomfortable to sit at my desk.

That’s about the time I am thinking of taking off..about 9-10 months, but its hard to say with it being my first, don’t know how I’ll feel. Bet it was hard to go back..is your little man in nursery then? I can go back part time or however many hours I want to when the time comes, which is good to know, think I will just see what happens at the time.

Trekking round supermarkets is a chore on your own..let alone with 3 children, online is the way to go!

This is the first time I have been on the site, but yea, I like it..I got it from the Prima Pregnancy magazine..and as I am too tired to go very far or do very much at the minute I have to fill my time!! Also, none of my friends have children or are pregnant, so its good to chat with people who do/are!

Hi I just thought I'd butt in I'm not actually a mum but mum 2 be. I'm 25 but 26 next month and currwently 23 weeks pregnant with mine and hubbys first. We live in the three score area moved here nearly two years ago from oxfordshire. At least were well placed for getting to the hospital. Did any of you go to the water antenatal or postnantal classes at the uea?

I think i've got used to living in Norwich now :-) the 1st year was really hard a combination of being a long way from my family and a wedding to plan. So there were lots of tears but things have got a lot better since then. The city is fantastic for shopping and pretty so were lucky there. My husband its orginally from Norwich so he enjoys being back and having the odd torture session at carrow road!! lol
So far I've had a fantastic pregnancy I've been so lucky as no illness. I just can't wait for my little man ( we found out the sex) to arrive!

Hi again to Janice too!
realised i didnt answer your question yest, i was finally dragged away from cyberland and had to join the real world again!
Freddie my Lo is teething i think and not very happy boy :(
But in answer to your question, yes he goes to nursery, at one which is quite central, i was apprehensive at first but he seems to be settling in quite well now and love sit there because they feed him loadsa food!
It was quite strange looking at the nursery when i was pregnant because its seems surreal and you cant imagine your baby going there if that makes sense! But thought best to plan in advance, knew that couldnt afford not to go back to work (unfortunately!) but still holding out for lottery win so fingers crossed!
Did you have good weekend?

Just off the old watton road between uea and hospital. were do you go to the yoga classes? I've heard yoga is ment to be quite good for labour. Have you got everything ready for the baby now. My husband goes away for 2 weeks when I'm 32 weeks so I'm wanting to try and get everything ready before he goes. So were organised for once in our lives!! lol

Hey hey,
Wow I don't get a chance to come on and bam there are heaps of replies and talk going on!!

Hello to all the newbies, I could do with a list of who is here! So we have two ladies who know each other, two pregant ladies and me am I right??

It's really funny reading through them!

we are trying for a baby at the mo so am very interested to see what the care is like out there! I've heard some bad horror stories of the NNUH so it will be good to see real stories!!

I'm off to work again soon!! I have got to get the bus in as the car is playing up! Not good! I It's good at work though, fun and I am lucky that hubby has the littley as it saves the whole nursery thing although tomorrow is her 1st day at playgroup/nursery!!!!!

Have a good day and maybe I'll serve you if your'e in the Mall today!!!

Love A xx

Hey A – I am a newbie pregnant lady!! So your trying for a baby at the minute..how old are your other children? I have to say that I have had no problems with the N&N at all so far..I have a high risk pregnancy as I only have one kidney that works, so I have to go every 4 weeks for scans, blood tests, consultants etc..and I have found them really good..apart from the waiting around! You say you work in the mall and its fun..where do you work? I was in there today actually.

Sorry I didn’t reply to you Heidi & Hannah last night..was shattered!!

Heidi – I know what you mean about nursery, I bet its hard to leave baby there to start with. But I am going to be the same, unfortunately I am going to have to go back to work too, think I’ll take 9 months off! My weekend was nice, had some friends for lunch on Saturday, and on Sunday I stayed home and didn’t even get dressed – lovely!!

Hannah – I go to yoga near John Lewis, its on a Monday lunch time, its really good..especially the relaxation bit..get a quick nap in the middle of the day, ha! So do you think everything will be ready for when your husband goes away? I have everything yes, have actually been very organised with baby..maybe a bit too much, ha!

Hope you have all had a nice day. Is anyone up to anything this evening? I’m now..just chilling and watching tv.

See Heidi – told you I could waffle, ha!

Janice xx

Hi again Janice,
no worries about not answering i remember clearly those preggie days when i struggled to stay awake past 9, so you were doing well to last til half 10!
Got my 3 darlings in bed and now just whizzing around on here for abit, just watching the news as well finding the story about shannon matthews and her mother incredulous, just seems really strange that whole situation.

Welcome back Angie,
things must be quieter now for you now at work with children gone back to school! My 2 girls had had more than enough of each others company by yesterday and were squabbling in a big bad way so was pleased when today came and they went back!
I guess you prob dont get too much of that as your 2 have much bigger age gap?
Look what youve started now with your topic!!
although we are not quite giving the plymouth mums a run for their money just yet!

11 o’clock..its a really late night tonight!! Generally it is 9 or 10 at the very latest!!

I was watching the news about Shannon Matthews..it is all very strange, they must have known something cause they never let her go home after she was found..and when they found her, she didn’t look really happy or anything..I think there’s more to it!!

Well hope you had a nice night, bed time here..not that I’;ll be able to sleep, ha!!

Hello everyone. Angie, you said you were interested to hear about N&N. I had both my boys at the 'new' (not so new now) N&N I can't say that I could complain about the care i received. I had to stay overnight before i had both boys, so you do see a variety of midwifes. Heidi will know as she was in for about a week when she had her lo. As we had both said before on a different thread do take your own food. The food provided is yuk! and the canteen food resembles very expensive school dinners. (Although if you are having contractions, food is the last thing you care about!!!)
Hannah on your other thread I think you may have mentioned not wanting to be apart from your partner if you had to stay in. I know exactly what you mean when I had my first I was told my DH could stay then the shift changed and the next midwife said he had to go I was in tears (so was he) you feel vonerable (i cant spell) anyway so it does not help. Basically what I am trying to say is have an open mind as you do not know what may happen. Both my boys took their time in coming (which I won't go in to, waffling too much) so I had time away from home. The only times I had ever spent a night away from my eldest, and from my husband since we have been married. They would not keep you in though if there was not a good reason, so try and think that you are in the best place to look after you and your baby. Enough of my waffling on.
I'm not going to comment too much on the Shannon Matthews case as i studied Criminology and will bore you all to sleep !!!zzzzzzzzzz LOL
Janice you said you were deciding what length of time to take for mat leave. All I can say is take as long as you can possibly afford as you will never have that time again with your baby. Every moment was precious when I was on mat leave. (still is) Will you go back to work part time? Obviously everywhere is different but this time I went back to work (Heidi i'm sure will agree) it has been much harder to be accepted as a part-timer. Won't carry on about that though as it will turn into a very long rant.!!
Angie (mummy mitchell) thanks for starting this post.
Holly

Hi Claire a belle,
Youre more than welcome to this forum! Im speaking on behalf of all of us of course, but everyone ive spoken to on here are very friendly!
Youre not sad at all, as like the rest of us you like to chat which i think in part helps to keep you sane!
This week cant have been too easy for you with it being first week back at work? How have you been?
I work with Holly and we went back same day so had each other for support but still didnt find it that easy and 3 months on not enjoying it still!
I dont blame you for being a bit naughty certainly at lunchtimes i do find myself having a look on here too, i think people at work (excluding holly of course!) think im a saddo! Although she may think that too!!

Do you work in an office job? Office politics are very interesting at ours!!

Hi Holly,
thought id reply separately to make sure you read it, did you and DH have good evening?
Sorry for rushing out of work yest realised id only half sorted out friday with you but suddenly got panicky (is that word?) about time, it seems to take about 10 mins just to pick Freddie up and so im then racing (well ok you know that word is exaggeration and more like semi fast walk) to get to school!
By the way definitely think youre winning now as the long thread queen, since you were laughing at mine yesterday!

Hello all, how was your day?

I just home from work..had a nightmare day am SO glad to be home!!

Holly..I know what you mean about maternity leave, thats why I am working until 37 weeks, so that I can have the time with my little man afterwards! I am going to have to go back full time eventually, but will probably start part time and build it up. You study criminology..is this what you do for work? I studied psychology, was going to be a forensic psy, but somehow decided to be an accountant instead?!

wow so much to catch up on!

Thanks for all the advice on the hospital it's good to hear it's ok! My past labours have been good, my littley was two hours from start to finish and we only just made it in!

Talking of the littley she had her first day at nursery today and came out with a great big scratch under her eye! She says a little girl hit her! she really loved it though and just waved us off I was amazed as she is very shy!!

I was lucky I was able to stay home after having her and when i had my biggy I was a nanny in London and she came with me to work! I would have hated to leave them with anyone else! now hubby has taken the reigns at home for a while after we moved up from London after our wedding in Oct last year!

It's great that so many of us want to chat I love looking forward to seeing the replies! I reckon we will outdo the Plymouth gang!!!

I have never worked in an office so have no idea of what goes on! We have such a laugh at work we are all good friends and go for drinkies and stuff!

I'd better go as I'm sorting tea and stuff!!

Sorry to have gone off on odd points!!

Love Angie xx
