Is there too much pressure on new mums to lose baby weight?

Subject : Sterilising after 6 months?

Hi everyone,
Can anybody fill me in on the sterilising rules when you are past 6 months? I thought you continued to sterilise bottles but not weaning equipment, bowls etc. My friend thinks nothing changes and you should continue sterilising everything. I thought all this was supposed to get easier!?!

Hi, You are right that you don't need to sterilise weaning equip (bowls, spoons etc) after 6 months. If you have a dishwasher this is ideal as it gets so hot so is like sterilising anyway.
You do still need to sterilise all bottles, teats etc though.

Hi there, I don't sterilise weaning bowls often, only if they fell on the floor or something similar. I do sterilise bottles and spoons though (as Sam is great at wacking spoons out of my hands all the time!lol)

Yeh like the others said i sterilise all bottles for milk and juice but not bowls and spoons although i do stick spoons in just for the hell of it but like loui said if you have a dishwasher these are just as good after 8 months you dont have to do even bottles if you have a dishwasher so i read on here. Everything goes in my lo's mouth so i dont see why you would have to do spoons and so on x

Thanx for your replies guys. I'm so pleased you think the same. I was having a little panic, thinking if Matilda got ill now its all my fault for getting it wrong!!! Although to be fair shes in the habit of sucking on whatever comes to hand now. This week i found she had rolled to the buggy and was sucking on the wheels - arghhhhhh! Why haven't mums evolved eyes in the back of heads yet!!
