Hi
I had my first baby in Oct 06 and went to Dorchester hospital and It was fantastic!!! I'm currently pregnant with number 2 and will have no doubt where I will be going!
At around 26 weeks I had a water infection and went into Dorch for treatment and they were fantastic then as well I was so scared something major was wrong but they were calming and very professional and friendly!!
When I went in to have my daughter my waters had broke and I had no labour I ended up with an emergency c section and was in hosp from the thurs to mon.. at times the staff were stretched but the service was still amazing they helped with breast feeding and bathing everything I needed I received even though they were so stretched I cannot compliment them enough!!
Hope this helps you you've definatly made the right decision!!

Hi.
I have opted to go there. I live in Poole Dorset, I was booked in for antenatal appointments with my twins and they were fantastic however I was transferred out when i was in labour and gave birth in Southampton (who were ace) and then transfered back to Poole hospital for 2 weeks in transitional care. I absolulty hated my stay there. I felt unsupported and the facitilities are grotty. Only one delivery room has an en-suite and all the rooms are pokey. I promised myself i wouldnt go back so despite Dorchester being a 40 min + drive ive chosen to go there.........and it is absolutly fantastic.
All the delivery suites are en-suite, the rooms are massive and airy. The midwifes are fantastic and it is a lot quieter than Poole. Ive stayed in a few nights due to a car accident which they thought was going to bring on prem labour and they were ace. The consultants are fab and the whole hospital is clean and lovely. Have been really impressed so far. Also look on dr.foster the rating for Dorchester are much better, less chance of having a c-section, more chance of having the same m/w in labour etc
Where do you live and which hospital are you currently booked into.

I'm booked to go to Dorchester too to have my lo in September, everyone i;ve spoken to says its the best place around, and beats the alternative choice of Yeovil and both are about the same distance away!
I just hope that its not too quick labour, as long bumpy drive cross country to get there!
