Subject : fatigue vs age
Is it true the older you are the more tired you get during pregnancy?
I'm 33 (34 next month) This is my first baby so I have nothing to compare it to but a friend of mine mentioned that she was speaking to someone who had two babies in her 20's and is now expecting her 3rd at 34 and she is so much more tired during this pregnancy...
I've been exhausted since day 1, quite literally I knew when I got pregnant. The first 14 weeks were torture and sadly my hubby and I were away in Prague for 4 days during that time and I was in bed by 9 almost every night. I felt so bad for him but couldn't stay awake.
My MW got me on Spatone, liquid iron supplement, which has helped alot but now I think I'm addicted and I still get really tired using it but it's better than not using it all.
Just wondering if anyone is in the same boat...
I can only imagine how tired I'll be when wee Babs arrives!!!

Hi Heather,
I'm 35 and also expecting my first. I think I must be one of the lucky ones, as I've had hardly any morning sickness and a really good pregnancy. I'm also taking extra iron, in tablet form, though (they also have folic acid and are called Pregaday). I think it must be more tiring if you are holding down a full-time job, as I'm not currently working. I'll be 34 weeks this week, so maybe the tiredness will hit me again nearer my due date in March...
Look after yourself and get plenty of rest while you still can!

Hi Nessy, I've been lucky too with the morning sickness, next to nothing really but I had to make sure I ate as soon as I felt hungry or else I was in trouble!
Fatigue is awful and sometimes I wished I had morning sickness... oh well, I guess that's my lot in life!
Are you having a Pisces baby? good girl, they are the best people!!!
all the best

Hiya
I agree totally with age been a huge factor in how tired you feel.
I had one child at 21 and 2nd at 23, Though I was tired I was not worn out to the point of exhaustion. Number 3 was 34 number 4 35 and now I 38 having number 5. I am phsically drained. I cant run after little ones and get really breathless. Does not help that in my 20's I was fit and size 8. Now I 14/16 and NOT fit at all!!!!!!!!!!
I could go out partying till dawn and still have energy to look after kids all days. Now I cant even drag myself out for a meal for few hours. Would rather be in bed!
On the other hand I have more patience, time and money to look after the kids!

Hi, i think it depends how your body deals with pregnancy. I had my 1st at 18 and my 5th at 40, i cant say that i felt more tired with the 5th, struggled a bit in the final couple of wks due to the sheer size of me but he was 11lb 4ozs when born so i think that explains that! lol. Im going to try for no 6 after ive lost some weight. x

debbiemc, how do you do it!?!?? good for you... my sis-in-law and bro have 5 and she is 38 and I wouldn't be surprised if there is no 6 coming but I just can't see myself do it... One more, yes b/c we don't want an only child, but that's probably it unless the oh gets me really drunk!!!
