Hi, I'm 27, i'll be 28 by the time my baby arrives. My mum always told me that I would get to a time in my life when all I really wanted was a baby. I didn't understand what she meant at the time, but I do now! I don't think anyone has the right to judge anyone for being too old / young to have children, but the underage sex laws are there for a reason, but fair enough if you have the capacity and the means to provide for your child. I do hope the 63 yr old lady in the news has considered what it will be like for her child. My aunt is 13yrs younger than my mum and was unplanned, and I know she hated her mum being that much older than all the other mums and being asked if she was her grandma and stuff.

i became a mum at 14 when i was drunk. i was going out with a lad and did not know what i was doing because i was drunk. i was in a good relationship with the father who was 17. he was born on 12 november 2003,we called him kieran. when i was 15 we then had nathan on 27th may 2004 he was planed. when i was 16 i had another boy on 27 september 2006 we called him joshua.by this time i was ,married to the father of all my children and went on the pill so i did not get pregnant again. however i found out i was 6 weeks pregnant. i had a scan last week and 2 our suprise i am expecting identical twins. i am also in my first year of 6th form as i still did my GCSE's and got 5A*'s and 5A's.people gave me funny looks for being so young but i don't care i would not change a thing. my husband can provide for us all now we r just thinking of another boy name and another girls name for the twins, because we want their sex to be a suprise, and because we did not know it was twins we only thought on 1 girls name 'Catlyn Patricia Lidijia Shales' and 1 boy name 'Benjamin Phillip Morgan Sheles'. i don't she why people shold think of me as a bad mum love my kids to pieces and they get lots of love and cuddles of me and hubby. so what is wrong with young mums. why do people think they are so bad can u answer my question.:\? thanks becky

hey becky, im 18 (17 when i fell pregnant) and due with my first baby in 23days, a little boy who will be called Blake Morgan Hart. my fiance is 30 and has a well paid job, so we can afford for me not to work. like you i got very good grades at gcse but my family were 'disappointed that i got pregnant so young',as they looked at it l;ike i was wasting my life - they are happy for me now though. however, i dont feel young and i certainly dont act young, my fiance and i are very much in love and looking for a house to buy at the moment. we are planning to get married after the baby is born. so i dont see anything wrong with having babies at a young age as long as you are mature enough to cope and you are supported financially, cos then all it takes is love and care which everyone is capable of be it at age 14 or 40!! and if you decide to have children at a younger age, then you can always go back to education when the children are older so you can have the best of both worlds! kim x x x

hi iam 34 and i have 4 children
i was with my oh for 3 months when i found out i was pregnant and Liam was born when i was 20.
I had saffron when i was 22 and i thought thats enough and i shut shop.
I then went on to have my lovely Ruby when i was 30 and alex when i was 33.
i am still with my oh even though people said we would not last because of having a baby so young and so early in the relationship and we are now ttc no5
i think as long as you love and care for your child and you are mature enough yourself it shouldent matter if you are 14 or 40
love leighxxx

good on you becky, i think you must be extremely intelligent and mature to do so well in your exams as well as bring up your children. i think you deserve nothing but respect for sticking to what you believe in (not having abortions), and im sure you are a better mum than some people are at 30. kim x x x

yes sometimes young mums can be just as capable or more capable than older mums. I am 17 and i have 3 children the oldest is 3 who i had when i was 14(unplanned)the me and BF planned the second which i had at 15 then we also planned our 3rd who was born on my 17th b'day. i got 5A*'s and 5A's at GCSE and i am in first year on 6th form. i am unexpected(as was on the pill) execting twinz and not many older mums go to work/collage(school) full time and look after a family.i live with my now hubby and it is our first wedding anniversary on sunday22nd april own house and OH father to all children) has a good job.

It all depends on the individual really. I put my hands up to you xxZOxx, I wouldnt have been able to cope at 16, i was far too imature at that age. My preg (i'm 17weeks) was a big surpise too.. it took me a while to get used to the idea and now i'm so so excited. If i was choosing a time to be preg i think i'd have given myself another 3 years. Though i love my bump and wouldnt change it now for the world!
