I am 35, I was 34 when I had my first baby and he is now 9 months old, I am now 13 weeks pregnant with twins. We have been married 10 years, nearly 11. I congratulate all those young mums out there, especially young single mums. I have a happy marriage, we are OK financially and own our own house. I dont know how young mums cope as I have still found it a struggle at times.

I'm 20, my daughter was born when i was19 and i wouldnt change anything for the world! She is a happy little girl and it doesnt matter to her what age her mummy is as long as i am there to take care of her. Her daddy is 21 and he is fantastic with her. We both love her to bits. I think everyone is different and will be ready at different times. Sometimes you dont know how ready you are until it happens unexpectedly!

I'm 27 and had my first child at 26....which looking back seems oo young....in some eyes but I think its perfect now.. I'm married and loving being a mummy...its down to individual personalities I think....although 63 is def too old and a little selfish I think......I hope that doesn't offend anyone

hi am 28 ands its my first. I agree over the 11 yr old in Scotland but hopefully her parents might help her after the baby is born so she can go back to school and have a education. I do think 63 is too old because most people by that age are becoming a grandparent. However its her and her partners choice at the end of the day. All I can say is am happy at my age. I enjoy my job but I would not say am career minded I would love to work part time and enjoy motherhood also but thats just live expenses. xxx

I'll be 43 when lo is born (my first). I think it depends on the individual. I had not met the right one until my husband. We both had to start from scratch again so took several years to get established and financially stable. I think it's important not to judge people as you don't know their situation.

Hi,

Im 21 and am 25+2 with my first, im totally ready and am married and work full time. People may say im too young to be married and having a baby but the time is right for me and my husband. Personally I do think that 63 is too old what sort of a life is the baby going to have.

hi i have just turned 40, i had my first at 35 and second at 38. We i went to the doctors the first time to get referred to the hospital he told me i was classed as an elderly expectant according to him anyone over 28 is elderly. I think it is a matter of personal choice what age you have your children i chose to have mine later as i liked to party when i was younger.

I'm 34, had first baby at 29 and will be 35 by the due date. Age is definitely a personal thing, I was far too selfish to think about a family early on. Wanted to get my career sorted first. Not sure I could handle two very young together either so we waited until our daughter was at school before trying for another.

I'm classed as an older mum at the ripe old age of 37 but, I never intended for it to be that way. I always wanted to have my children (I wanted 4!!) in my early 20's. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out that way. Bad choices in partners, 4 mc's and then fertility problems have all been a factor and I had my first live child on Boxing Day 2007. I will be sticking to just the one!!
