i was 28years old and married for 6 years before we had lo. i have to say this was purely selfish reasons. we wanted to spend our time together first. when we decided we were ready we went for it and luckily fell straight away. i feel i am so relaxed with my bubba and feel so ready for her and cant wait to go again.xx

I've just had my first baby at 37 and think it's wonderful!
After spending my twenties travelling and working abroad, I met someone at 35 who I wanted to settle down with and start a family. I also have so much more patience now and we're planning on having another baby soon!

I was 33 when I had my son who is now 16weeks old, I felt I needed to wait till I too found the right person, also that I wanted to to get married and to have brought a house, I worked with children and felt that I was ready to have my own.

I was 26 when i had my LO. Am now 27 and feel that this was the best time for us to have a child. Have got my degree and a few years of my career under my belt but still feel young enough to not have to worry about completing the family before we are ready.
I personally was nowhere near ready to have kids in my late teens or early twenties but now feel that i have had the chance to do most of the things i wanted to do - all night clubbing no longer seems so appealing!!!
sometimes still have pangs of envy for the carefree life before kids but realise i have got something far better!!
The most important thing is that the babies are loved no matter how old the mother.
xx:\)

I had my caree first before the kids as i never wanted children. Then as soon as i hit 29 and got divorced i suddenly wanted children before it was too late. I had my first when i was 31 and my second 14months ago aged 34

I'm 27, will be 28 if baby comes on her due date, or 27 if shes a week early. I get married 5 months after babies due, which my parents are not happy about, but we planned to get pregnant and we'll have a special guest at our wedding

Im 20 and my boyfriend is 27, it was sort of planned, wed talked about it but hadnt actually "said lets start trying". Me and my o/h have been together for about a year and a half. Weve both got good jobs, i landed my job in a big insurance firm when i was 16 and have had 4 years to work myself up in the company, i love it and intend to go back to 3 days a week when the baby is about 3 months. I have my own house, and we feel that we can give the baby everything it will need.

hi
this seems to be a very popular topic, judging from the large number of replies. I haven't read them all but there seems to be a lot of young folks. To balance the discussion, I am a first time mum at age 43 (yes 43), and we spent less than 6 months ttc. We feel totally blessed by our lo.

I don't think it's right for other people to say you're too old etc. If nature allows it, then it must be ok.
