Hello everyone I'm 23 - and have a beautiful baby boy 14 weeks old. He wasn't planned to come along yet but i'm so glad he did cause i don't think my oh would ever realise that he was ready to be a dad (which hes very good at). We both want more close together if we can. Need to get a bigger house asap though. We both think that you can plan when you want to do everything in your lives - kids, house, career, study but that dosen't mean it'll work out how you want it to - so you should enjoy each thing when it comes along for you! :)

I'm 28 and my oh is 34. 1st baby, little boy aged 11 weeks! Like Katsthemama, hubby didn't think he was ready to become a dad either, however, neither of us would do anything different if we had to do it again!! Babies are amazing - can't wait to have lots more!!

Hi im 35 had first at 26 second at 31 and newbie at 35 hubby is 36 we have been together 16 year. We have three and even though i would love more i don't think there will be any more additions to our family...boo hoo

I feel quite comfortable with the age I am to have my first baby but what is right for one person might not be right for another. However I do feel that if you can't support yourself it would be very difficult to support a child as well and I think this can happen at any age not just younger mums. Also I think that 60 is pushing it a bit for a child. I have a friend who's parents were older and they were both dead by the time he was 21 (I realise that this can unfortunately happen to anyone but not that likely). Overall I think the most important thing is for parents to be able to care for and love the child they are bringing into the world.

I'm now 28 and having my second. I wouldn't change having my daughter for a second, she was a happy accident and is an absolute treasure however already I can see how I am able to offer a baby so much more now, I'm married, with a house and some cash in the bank to buy little luxuries. I do feel guilty when I consider that my daughter shared a room with me and my mum and at ten has only just got a garden for the first time. While I'm looking for things to buy for the new baby it makes me realise how much she went without. Also because I had to work I had less time to spend with her and she spent her formative years with child minders. That said, she is happy as larry and at the end of the day children cannot miss what they've never had. If I could change one thing though it would be that I was older when i had her. The one bit of advice I would give to young mums though is to ignore the ignorant busy bodies who look down their noses, and to keep a strong work ethic.
