Subject : How old are you?

I'm 31 and waited until I'd done enough in my job to feel ready to have a break. Also I didn't want to leave it too late to have children. I want to be young enough to enjoy them. Can't understand that woman who's having a baby at 63 - she's too old, and how long will she live to enjpy her child?

And my job isn't easy ether, I am a groom for a competition Stud called Absolute Horse LTD www.absolutehorseltd.com. My boy friend is a gardener.

I had my first child when i was 24, which seems quite young. I had completed my degree had a good job and a loving partner. I think it all just depends on when you feel ready.

I'm 23 and had my baby in December aged 23! I also think that 63 is too old to have a baby. I find the sleepness nights hard at my age, I don't think I would cope if I was 40 years older!!!

hi. i dont think age is really important as long as you look after your child and love your child whats the diffence between a young mum and an older mum. everyone has their own opitions. i was a young mum 16 when i had my 1st child i'm 20 now and on my third. age doesn't matter.

I would be lying if I said age doesn't matter when it comes to having babies! What about the 11 year old girl in Scotland who is the youngest mum in Britain? That girl is only a child herself! A child having a child...sorry...but that is disgraceful no matter what way you put it!

I was 24 when I had my first baby, 27 when I had my second, and am now 43 and expecting my third. I feel amazingly privileged to be pregnant at my age, and it has given me a new lease of life. Nature has made it clear that it is ok, and my family are all delighted. Some may consider me too old to be starting again, but what's right for one may not be right for all.

I was 18 when I had my daughter, she was planned. We concieved a fortnight after I turned 18 (first month ttc), and I wouldnt change her for the world. I had no desire to go to uni & get into debt, instead I got a job as a nursery assistant (babies not plants LOL), then left to get a full time job in order to get a decent amount of maternity pay. ........................................................................................................ I'm 20 now, almost 21, my daughter is a happy, intelligent 26 month old, I am still with her father (in the house he owns may I add) we are in the process of moving to a bigger house which we will both own, and I'm 19 weeks pregnant with our second child (also planned). ...................................................................................... I think if you feel ready or capable for a child, that is your decision. Perhaps late 40s should be the limit, but then I know some very spritely 60 and 70yr olds!

I liv e near the 11 year old in scotland who had her baby and she was allegedly arrested for underage drinking a few weeks ago and both her and her baby are now in care....it's damned scary for me at 26 to be pregnant let alone a wee kiddie, but in the interview in a magazine she said she feels like a woman and it's like 'a wee doll for her to play with' OMG!!!

Yet another one in the system....grrr.....and I know the sex ed in this area is good....she was proably playing truant on the day the nurse came in *sigh*

im 16 and 9/10 weeks gone, it wasnt planned but i couldnt give it up or get rid of it, i've been through every emotion in the past 3 weeks on what to do but i think its for the best, i have 100% support of family and friends, i no i cant rely on them for evrything but i know they will be there for me, still with the dad, we get on well, he went through a faze where he didnt want it but i think hes come round same with my mum and gran they thought it would be best for me to get rid of it, but i couldnt and showed them i was seriouse about having it, i have applied to the council for a house, and have already started organising some things, i am still at school till the baby come in march but i will still finish my 5th year exams in the may, i know it will be hard but wil suport and hard work i'll get through xlisax

You've got to have a baby - or hopefully have a baby - when the time is right for you. But the hysteria about "older mums" is over the top. Of course, we're at our most fertile in our teens, but is that the best time to have a baby? I've had 3 babies in 6-and-a-half years - at 36, 38 and 42. I know I'm incredibly lucky, but just wanted to let anyone know that your eggs haven't necessarily shrivelled up and expired by the time you're over 3o!

I was 30 when i'd my 1st child but when my last one came along i was 32 and thought that i was a bit too old for being pregnant. I'd always wanted a large family but it just didn't work out me having kids when i was younger.

Hi im 22, 23 in November and i had my daughter 3 months ago im in a very long and stable relationship of 7 years and we both felt ready to take the next step together. Life couldnt be any better than at the mo. Ive always wanted children right from when i can remember and ive never really been a career girl dont get me wrong i have always worked full time right from when i left college but i just rather be a mummy than a top earning boss somewhere, maybe one day when im older and the kids are older too then i may think about it but for the moment im happy being a mummy to my gorgeous daughter Evelyn and her little brother or sister in a few years time!!! Wink
