Which is best? Would like to hear from anyone who has either and what their positive and negative points are.
Thanks?

Silver cross any say of the week. I know a lot of people who went for the m&p and are completely unimpressed, I however love my silver cross. It is slightly heavier but (imo) this adds to the sturdiness of it, a friend pushed mine for a bit and commented on how her m&p felt flimsy. She also bought the car seat and didnt like it, she went out and bought another one. The silver cross has a lovely padded mattress in prammode whereas the mamas only has a very thin layer of padding which you can still feel the harness through. Talking of harnesses I think there was a post on here a while back about the mamas harness fraying. The silver cross also comes with a nice head cushion for pushchair mode and padding on the harness straps.
On the downside, my LO was quite long and didnt fit into the pram mode for long (3months to be exact) and it is a tight squeeze in the boot of the car (corsa) but both of these points would be true for the mamas too.
Think about whether you need a car seat that you will take in and out or not (I dont have one of these, I have a convertible seat that lasts from birth to four, didnt see the point of buying a seat for 9 months and then having to buy another one plus I also couldnt think of a situation where I would take the car seat out so that was an easy decision for me!).
I have a silver cross sofia (limited edition) and its lovely although I could have managed without a "pram" mode (but nice to have to keep LO comfy!)
Good luck choosing - Its a minefield out there!!

I have the M&P pliko pramette, The harness starts at the base of the pram, the straps don't come from the back of the pram, it doesn't leave your LO secure enough!! My LO is 17 weeks old and I turned it into the pushchair last week and I noticed that the harness was frayed, so am waiting for it to be replaced!! I also don't like the fact that I can't see my LO when I'm pushing him, so were going the purchase the quinny buzz, so that I can see him. If I had the chance again I would not buy the M&P. The car seat is heavy and doesn't provide much head support when babs is little..... I had to go and buy and extra insert.

Hi, i also ecommend the silvecross, i actually had the pliko with my 1st baby and it just did feel flimsy - the s/cross 3d is much more sturdy and i also feel it looks better! hope this helps!
also i found a great website selling loads of pushchairs and loads of other stuff at quite cheap prices ( ibrought the 3d from them) it is www.theyummymummyshop.co.uk and is well worth a look - my sister in law just brought a quinny buzz off them too for under £200 brand new!
so silvercross!!!

We also have the Silver Cross 3D and I really love it, it's really sturdy and feels fab to push and it also looks pretty cool too!
It is still quite heavy though (not a pram for taking on public transport easily imo), but lighter than a lot of travel systems and I guess the sturdiness and the weight go hand in hand so not a problem for me!

I have the Silver Cross 3D and love it. I do agree with others that it is quite heavy but it is a great pram and very easy to push. It is also very easy to change from the carrycot to be able to put the car seat on top. Its also easy to open up and close. The carry basket is a bit awkward at times as well but you get used to it. Overall I recommend it and think it is a brilliant pram and would definately go for a silver cross one again.

I bought the silver cross cruiser and then the 3d came out a few weeks later (wish i'd have waited!!), the car seat is the same for both and the only down side is that silver cross don't do the base for the car. So if you are getting the travel system i would bear this in mind. It eventually did my head fasting it in and out that i borrowed my friends graco seat until i got the forward facing one.
On the other hand my sister in law had a m&p travel system and the car seat with that was very small and my son wouldn't fit in that at 7 or 8 months.
Hope this helps as you didnt mention if you was going to get the car seat or not

I just love my Silver Cross 3D pram system. I have the all black one from Mothercare (only place that do it, not even Silver Cross' own website do it!!). I have several friends who have babies of a similar age to mine and they all have M&P ones, so mine is unique! I am also the only one with no complaints. They are often grumbling to each other about their prams. The M&P pram does not lie completely flat, it slopes and you can feel bars through it.
My baby was so happy in the pram bit, she even slept the night in it when we went to friends and she was already 6 months old! We only converted it to a pushchair when she was 6 months, even though she was rather squashed in the pram bit, she was quite happy anyway. The pram is definitely narrower than the M&P one, but they don't need space as they are strapped in by a 'sumo' nappy style padded strap, which M&P one doesn't bother with. Did give me peace of mind when she was bigger and I left her to sleep in it in friends' halls as I knew she could not get out.
Also the Silver Cross is the only pram/pushchair I know of that has a hood that pulls right down over your baby to stop the sun getting in the their eyes, especially important in pram mode.

i have the silvercross 3D as well and think its fantastic. it it easy to put up and down and looks stylish. the pram mode is lovely and comfy and my baby sleeps really well in it. my only complaint is about the car seat, i find it really heavy and difficult to put in car. if you use the car alot and don't want to use it as a travel system i would buy a different car seat.

Hi
I have the M&P pramette for my 5 week old lo and haven't got any complaints so far, he seems comfy enough and settles well when he's in it.
I looked at the Silver Cross from Mothercare when trying to decide which one to get and the reviews on their website weren't great so that put me off and I went for the pramette.
I also have the M&P car seat and I think that's ok too, its heavy to carry but other than that it's fine.

I was pretty much settled on the Pliko Pramette but now I'm confused. One of the problems I have is that my husband can only use one hand and has found most other prams difficult to fold, however has no problems with the Pliko.
How does the Silvercross fold and would you recommend it for a person with only use of one hand?

Hello,
I have the pliko pramette, and I absolutely love it. Elsie is loving the floating harness cos she can move around and have a nosey whilst being completly safe in there.
It's light and easy to fold and unfold and push around busy shops one handed.
The only thing that I didn't really like was how quickly Elsie grew out of the pram, I didn't feel quite ready having her in the buggy facing away from me but she loved every minute of it. I'd go for the Pliko every time.

The silver cross folds exactly the same as the p3 pramette so that wouldnt cause a problem.
I think that the silver cross is heavier having used both, but I like the liner on the silver cross. The apron is difficult to fit on both when forward facing which means you will need a footmuff too when they are older.
The basket hangs down a bit lower on the p3 too making it easier to put your shopping in and out BUT the silver cross venturer car seat is so so much better than the primo viaggio and primo viaggio sip.
Hope that helps a bit
