Hi Holly. I live the other side of Lincoln. I've lived in Sleaford and for quite a few years worked at the Sleaford Target Newspaper on Reception. My Husbands family all live their too. Small world hun. How's your bump doing? not long now? are you getting a little bored?

Hi Holly
I loved the birthing ball especially at the hospital in Boston where my boy was born.Which Hospital have you chosen? I hear Lincoln is very good and not that long ago it was going to be the main mat unit for Lincolnshire.Dont know if it will happen though.Dont know if i'll have anymore. I think i would like to as i still get broody and wont get rid of any of my baby things.
Kids are fine thanks. Kelsey is a little Monkey. If there is any trouble between them she's the trouble maker. Poor Jak sometimes she jumps on him and plays rough.
I have two kids with different personalities. Jak is mainly quiet and quite sweet (although he still can be naughty) and Kelsey is full on and on the go all the time. Quite forward which i'll have to watch her when she's older, especially as we live near a RAF camp! She's already waving at the men and getting attention! Still i dont mind that they are very different and i dont think either of them are a challenge.
Do you have family near by and plenty of support when baby arrives? It's an amazing experience as you'll find out in 2/3 weeks time. I do wish you all the luck and hope you have the birth that you want.Is the midwife happy with you and baby?

hiya
have decided on homebirth although originally booked in at grantham. i have never heard anything good about lincoln!!! bosotn i hear is ace! lincoln was in the papers recently for its bad rep.. they have 300 births a week and most of the time ur on ur own cos they cant cope wit demand! at grantham its 1to1 but i decided im closer to lincoln if owt goes wrong than if i have to go from grantham. but aint goin to lincoln unless i have to!!
aah i dont think ill get rid of anything. maybe SOME clothes as i have been given tonnes!!
wot lovely names! and sound like lovely characters too! i bet they lighten every day for you. i cant wait to get to know my lo.
i actually live opposite parents which is v lucky!! but i shall be hiding my labour from them. really dont want the fuss. mw is confident all is fine. who did u have? i think its the same team of mw that cover the three hsopitals.
did ur births go to plan? is there anything u wish ud known?
take care
holly xx

Hi Holly
Things were good 2 years ago at lincoln mat unit sounds like it's gone down hill. Boston was great when i had Jak by emergency section. I was very well looked after. Dont know much about Grantham other than they have a birthing pool their as one of my old natel class ladies went to have a baby their.A home birth sounds lovely. I wish i had one with Kelsey now but i would of been rushed to the hospital anyway as she was stuck and not coming out.So neither of my births were to my birth plan. Best advise is to go with the flow and listen to the midwife who will get you through it. Cant remember who my midwife was although the name Debbie rings a bell who's Husband was a paramedic? I may be wrong. I was in Sleaford yesterday over at the inlaws. We were having a family photo session done. Kelsey was a handful and it took the chap about an hour to get a decent picture of her as she kept running off! Little monkey that she is! But it was fun. The studio was next to Gohills he hasn't been their very long. Good bloke though.
The only things that i had wish that i had know when it came to giving birth is how to use the gas and air properly. I was high after the birth not during and even my husband thought it was goog stuff lol! Keep me up to date

Hi Andrea,
Yeah i think Boston is probably the better one although we dont know boston and it is a bit further. really ecited about a home birth, but obvioudlu if something happens i accep i have to go to lincoln! clearly it hasnt been bad for all as you have had good experience there.
yeh i like debbie,i only met her at my 16week check up. i really dont like the others, they always make me feel like im stopping them doind something better, as if they dont want to be there. i rang one yesterday as my feet and hands were huge and wanted to check all was ok. her response... ring me tomorro if u think u have pre-eclampsia...wtf!?!?! fine ill diagnose myself!?!?!
not noticed a new studio but glad u mentioned it as we were considernig venture in lincoln (toooooo expensive!!)
bet it was a lovely day out!!!
i have hired my tens and i will make sure i ask them about using the gas and air properly then!!
are u already for christmas? did u buy much when your los had their first christmas? this year chus be lovely with the age of them, really magical!! cant wait til next yr wen i can watch him playin with his toys...aaaaaaaaaw!!
take care

Hi Holly
That's awful what the Midwife said to you. I cant beleive it. That's just so unprofessional.I hope you have had it checked out hun? I had very swollen feet and ankles when i was having Kelsey. It was so bad that it actually hurt to move my feet or they felt stiff because of the extra water.Still i had a midwife over here come out to me as i couldn't drive. (Too big to fit behind the steering wheel lol) and i was just advised to elevate them at all times. I lived in my slippers because nothing fitted but she did check me for pre-eclampsia because it is a sign of it.Bless you hun. You must of been really angry and ready to deck her one! I know i would. And so close to the birth too. It's disgusting love.
Jak was 10 months and Kelsey only 4 months for their first xmas. So we didn't buy them much really as everyone else seem to buy them loads. Teddies. clothes, money, rattles, stackers and more,Last year we bought Kelsey a rattle and some soft cubes. That was it. Yes we felt cheap skates but its not as if she was aware of it. The most magical thing that she did last year was Roll for the first time on xmas day. That was a very proud mummy moment and i remember it like yesterday. This year i just know will be even better as Jak knows what's happening and Kelsey will be able to open her own presents and everyone elses!
Who's your Birthing Partner? Are they ready for the arival. That's if you havent already gone into labour because of the stress caused by that silly Midwife.

lol no!! im trying tho!!!
my legs are the size of tree trunks and my hands look like the nutty professors! i try to elevate my feet as much as poss but im also trying to maintain forward leaning positions and often am on all fours ove rmy ball as baby is back to back and not engaged any more!! grr!!
i was about ready to deck the other mw this week but she perked up when i arranged my home birth with her so she was forgiven! my oh was firing the questions at her i was so shocked! but it was nice to see him so interested and concerned... bless!
my oh, mark, is my birthing partner and he is so good!keeps rubbing my feet, telling me to stop doing things, jumps up when i say lets go for a walk..i hope he stays this way as i appreciate it so much. what was ur oh like? how did he react to ur first born? did he panic or take it in his stride? i think mark will panic... but only when hes away from us i think he will try to keep his cool..
anyway heres my new improved birth plan... what do you think...
if all goes to plani will stay at home using bath, massage, tens and g&a. if labour prolongs etc and i have to go to hospital the plan is to be abandoned and the epidural brought on! i think thats a good plan! did u have plans? did they work?!
god ive rambled today! will let ya get a word in now lol
u going to the fab sleaford xmas market this weekend? doesnt feel like its really time for that yet lol

It can be awful the last week or 2 of pregnancy. Will my last pregnancy i had a rash which blistered and itched alot. It drove me nuts and i'm convinced that it was the change of iron tablets that i was on. My vains on my tummy protruded and the blisters burst on my legs. It was awful. It was also one of the hottest August on record too so i couldn't bare clothes on and walked around the house nude with the curtains shut ofcourse! Well i wouldn't want to scare the neighbours with my hugeness lol.
Your fella sounds like a good one. My husband just left it too me and if i asked for my shoulders rubbed it seemed as though it was too much for him too do.He did get stuck in with the nappies though so i cant complain. He just felt useless me being pregnant as he couldn't do much. Plus i dont think he knew what to do incase he hurt me.
I did have a birth plan for birth births. Neather happened as when i had my son an emergency section had to be performed but i did get an epeidural which was fab. Second time around i wanted an epidural but the hospital refused because of my rash incase it was a live rash because it would mean they could be injecting it into my spine and i might of ended up in a wheel chair if it was a serious rash/infection.So because of this rash i just had Gas and air which wasn't enough and i wanted to go home. They had no intention of giving me a section again because of this rash so i had a vaginal Ventouse birth with a cut and tear.I did want to be in hospital both times though and it was advised because i'm only 4ft 11 tall! No matter what i went though i had the best bundel at the end of the day a beautiful little girl. So now i have one of each so i cant complain.
I really do hope that your birth plan goes to plan. Not everyone can have what they want and it's always nice to hear someone has got what they want.
Sleaford xmas market? Not been their for a few years. Last time would be on the Echo Newspaper stall about 8 years ago freezing everything off lol.
Hope you had a good weekend. Have you tried Raspberry leaf tea? That suppose to get things moving.

hello, im still waiting....
hope to have some news very soon, i keep bouncing on my ball, im taking the raspberry tablets and rubbing clary sage oil into my bump..have even resorted to the dreaded bit of nookie lol! nothing!
i do feel like i have been riding a pushbike down a bumpy road for the last few days..does that mean anything?
im scared of the evrntouse and forceps, they make me shiver but when it comes to it im just gonna go into my own head and stay there until baby cries! i dont no how im gonna cope but i dont actually expect it to go to plan!
i bet ur reallylooking forward to christmas this year, it must be lovely to see lo's opening their pressies! cant wait for next year:D
the xmasmarket is pants!!nothing there!about 5 stalls on high street and some rides on the market place.im hoping to go the lincoln one on sat if there hasbeen no movement... maybe it will encourage him to come and join the festivities!
my hands are huge, i tried to do some of my assignment the other day and i could barely hold a pen! my feet are swollen on the top and bottom and i feel like i have been smacked across the face! i will miss my bump though but good riddance to the rest of the symptoms!!
did u get anythign for your rash? i had to beg and they told me to buy some eurax which i sjust to soothe itchiness... it got better though luckily. amazing how a rash stopped u having those interventions...shows how particular they actually are. hope they dont refuse me an epidural if i go hospital!i will want one if i have to go there!
take care

Hi Holly
I remember that feeling down below. 1 Week before both births it felt like there was a melon between my legs and i struggled to walk. Jak was one week late and Kelsey 2 days late.
If you need intervention dont worry as if you have an epidural you wont feel anything and if you dont have one they numb you with a local anyway. Well they did me so when Kelsey came out i barely noticed unti she was put on my chest.
I enjoyed being pregnant both times. They were very similar except the births and i got too perfect little ones out of it.
Didn't think there would be much at the market and if you do go to lincoln on Saturday all the walking around may just do the trick. The Waiting is horendeous isn't it? Just sooooooooooo frustrating.
What course are you doing? Anything interesting? What did your midwife say at your last appointment?

hi andrea,
are you having a good week?
imenjoying relaxing this week. have put my feet up and watched lots of dvds and eaten lots. i cant do much else as i feel like i been booted between my legs repeatedly (still!) and my feet are humungous!
maybe im not far away if u felt like this and had them both within a week...!
how long were your labours? did they go to plan at all or did u go with the flow? :-)
i have enjoyed pregnancy but it has been hard... i dont want to do it again for a while! do u miss ur bumps?
ill try n waddle around the market. worried about people bumping intome but reckon if i have a go at that hill i can get things moving! hehe not told oh yet he hates going up there!
im doing a foundation degree in early childhood services. its quite interesting. it has to be done as part of the government improving standards and quality in day care. pretty soon every setting will have to have one person with this qulaification. i think its good, there are too many young girls employed full time on nvq's and not always getting the knowledge of rights, law, etc. im not knocking them though cos i did nvqs!
what do you do for a living? i think im gonna stay at home for a while after mat leave, ill be finished course then too so can really be a lady of lesiure!
o last appointment she came to the house to discuss the homebirth. really upset me cos she said if ihave to gon in ambulance to hospital oh has to make his own way. i think thats awful. ill kick off! no more appointments tilnext thurs and thatll be at 41 weeks so will do a sweep.
ill make sure i get local anaesthetic then if they mention ventouse if thats what they did for you. i not heard of peoplehaving a nice ventouse delivery! maybe theres hope. mayeb if im lucky itll all happen smoothly at home..that would be perfect!
have you got ur tree up yet?!

Hi Holly
Well the week started good. But for the past two days i've had a poorly boy with a sickness bug. Poor lad gets really worked up about it and so upset. It's been tough going especially as i had a Migrain yesterday morning too which isn't much fun either.
I do miss my bumps. Not just the awkward size but the feeling of a little person growing inside you knowing that little person is unique to you. That's what i really miss. Wish i had done a body cast now for both bumps but its too late now.
Glad to hear that you are taking it easy. When baby arives you will be thankful for the rest before hand and will only be able to rest when baby is asleep.Plus the rest will do you some good. Just boring the waiting and there are only a certain amount of tv and dvd's that you can watch.
I've been a stay at home mum now for 4 years. I started out as a hairdresser and after 6 years moved into Administration for various Government establishments. Then i went to work at the target Newspaper in sales/admin/recep then i went to work at Staples in Sleaford fell pregnant and gave up work. I've had an eventfull life you could say.
I think when it comes to what happens in the birth like a ventouse or cut. At the time you just dont care you just know that the midwife or doctor is doing the right thing for your baby and you. I didn't care i just wanted Kelsey out now as i had enough and couldn't push anymore i was too knackard.
Oh and dont be supprised if you say something really stupid like i did when you are high on Gas and air. I tried getting off the bed and said i wanted to go home and iwanted my mum! I also nearly broke my husbands hand and tried strangling him with his top as i was gripping hold of him so much lol.
The only bit of advice i can give you is Listen to your Midwife. Mine was fab at the birth. Stay relaxed and focused and go with the flow. I hope you get the home birth that you want and that it goes well. When i had my son although i had to have a section in the end the run up to it (9 hours) were quite a relaxing time and very exciting.Hope you get too the market and it kicks it off. My daughter was only 2 days over due so you never know!!!! So keep me informed.
Putting my tree up next week. How about you?
Love Andrea

Hi Holly
I cried loads when i was having Kel. I was really over sensitive to any coments even if they were really nice! Right softy i was. Still am i suppose. Being a mum softens you up abit and certainly changes the was that you feel about things. I cant bare to see kids suffering on the adverts when it's children in need it so upsets me and even things in the papers i cant read.
We didn't venture out yesterday. All it did was rain and be very windy. My house was freezing every time someone opened a door there seemed to be a draft each time from somewhere?
My boy is better but he still isn't eating properly. He has got quite fussy with food even before he was ill so i need to work on the old disquising food and making it look yummy. Looks like he's passed his germs to his sister now as she's quite poorly. Got to admit they havent been sick, I dont do sick very well as i tend to retch with them.Jak had a stomach upset when i was 7 months pregnant and that was horrendeous! It's one of those imagies that i cant get out of my head it was so bad lol.
Oh no Head Gasket? That could be expensive i hope not. I remember my old Peugeots went. It was abit smoky!
Last xmas both kids kept away from the tree. This year when it goes up i know that it will be pulled over. Baubles missing, tinsel thrown around or worn. Not looking forward to it but i'm sure i'll just laugh at everything the kids do to it. I'm going to get them to help decorate it so wish me luck for Wednesday when my decs go up!
Really looking forward to xmas this year. We've been together for 5 years and not one xmas have we had by ourselves. So this year will be even more special. Just like your xmas this year will be will a new baby. By the way. Do you have any names planned for your little man? Or have you choosen a few and waiting to see which he looks like? That what we did second time around as we didn't know if we were having a boy or a girl and i was convinced that i was having another boy. I absolutly loved the name Alfie Ben that was tops then when she arrived a quick re-think onto girls names had to be done.
Hope you are feeling ok. Not long now hun and i hope those people that keep phoning stop. It's soooooooooooo annoying i know.
Love Andrea

Hi Holly
Well the tree has gone up today instead of tommorow i couldn't wait. I got too excited!!!! Kels has yet to road test it as she's been in bed having her nap whilst i did it. She's sat messmorised by the twinkling lights at the moment. My little man helped me so he's very happy now especially when i put a tree decoration on the tree with his picture on it! 'That's me mummy' he said. Little sweetie. He's not always cute though trust me.
Both kids are fine now thanks. Although Kel has been very clinghy today and hasn't really moved from my side. She doesn't want food still either just her milk but that could be her teeth coming through as her insisors are making an appearence.
Got the carol service at Playgroup tommorow. Jak is in the front row to sing and i think he's wearing a Santa outfit i'm not sure but he said that he is. I love things like this but they dont half give me a lump in my throat. I dread next September when he goes to school, i'll be crying buckets!!!!!
I was induced with Jak. I had to go to the hospital at 41 weeks and have a sweep at 9.30am. The next morning around 1.30am i woke with contractions that were irregular but quite painful. I got to the hospital about 4am and was 4cm. They gave me a drip to make the contractions more regular thats when i asked for an epidural coz i'm a wimp. I got one so couldn't feel anything then before i knew it i was off to operating room for my emergency section. Or as i like to call it 'sunroof job'! lol. I had a sweep again with Kelsey at 40wks +1 and had her the next day just using Gas an air. So if you do have a sweep at least you might have your baby the next day.
When are you down for an induction?
Yeah it is bad timing the car head gasket going. one week to go before xmas our washing machine broke down and couldn't be fixed last year. I had to buy a new one which got delivered 2 days before xmas day. Skint after that. There always seems to be something.
Hope to hear some news soon! Plenty of sex it worked for me ;-D
Love Andrea
