Subject : how often to BD

Hi everyone. Been ttc for 5 months now starting to worry as have been using ov kit and BD very regularly. We BD'd every day during and around my fertile time but I've since read that you can BD too much and every other day might be more effective. Just wondering if anyone has any advice for those of you could have had a BFP how often did you BD?

This month we BD every other day from about day 8 then when I had my LH surge we BD everyday for 3/4 days, then skipped a day and BD again just in case! They reckon every day can be a bit much because it can take up to 3 days for your fellas sperm to get back to maximum motility. Think it's 7 days for maximum quantity but after 3 days quality doesn't get any better. Doc's say every other day but I was worried I'd miss the actual ov day if we stuck to that. I've heard of lots of other people who the evry other day method worked for.
I'm on month 6 now. Just waiting to see if I get a BFP or AF shows up at the end of the month.
Sorry that won't help much. If you're ovulating and getting some BDing in over those days it does sound like you are covering the bases. You could try going without for a few days before the day you ovulate then it gets up there in one go (sorry to be graphic!).
It is very difficult this ttc business. You've come to the right place for support and advice though. Think I'd have lost the plot by now if I couldn't rant on here. Welcome to the site. xxx
By the way, you must both be exhausted!!

Hi allie77. We only managed twice around the time my OV sticks said I was ovulating. Hubby has been working very hard at the moment and is just exhausted, and I was away on business, so that's all we could manage.... but it was enough this time as I'm now pg!!

Good luck both of you and I hope you get your BFP soon!!

Hi. I'm on Day 7 today and we've decided to bd every other day for the next couple of weeks. Hopefully that way we won't miss ovulatation! I haven't started using any additional aids yet, such as ovulation sticks, but if we don't get lucky this month I think I will have to try something! Baby dust ****** xx
