Subject : Baby has screamed ALL NIGHT
I have no idea why. Is it me? I don't know how much more of this I can take!

Like really screamed?? My baby is generally up all night, but not screaming. She just snack feeds and snoozes on me. She has longer sleeps and feeds during the day. What's your baby's usual sleep pattern? Make sure you sleep during the day today, if there is anyone else that can look after little one for you. Not to frighten you but you do get used to sleepless nights!!

Awww they do go through unsettled phases.
Have you done the check list? wet, hunger, cold, hot, winded? etc..
did you try rocking, or singing or just walking around holding baby?
Did you try resting baby on your chest and rubbing their back?

We tried everything, including a mini ride in the car which settled him, but only until he had to move. Everything we tried, winding him, rocking him, putting him in the pushchair and walking him up and down, only kept him quiet for about 10 mins before he started crying again. I give up!

I had a night of this in hospital (it was hunger as I struggled to get her to latch on) when you've tried everything must be really hard, I cant offer advice but I can empathise, it was heart breaking to watch her scream but the next night was a lot better.
Hope things are settling a bit for you, could have been a sore tum or something that will pass.

He's so much better now, we've put it down to the immense amount he ate Saturday night and then he must've had a tummy ache. We think the hunger was to do with a growth spurt, as the midwife said he'd have one at around 7-10 days and he was 9 days on Saturday. He had a brilliant night last night, woke about 4 times for a feed but slept between so I felt really rested by this morning He's a much more contented baby today, so we're much more contented parents! Plus, hubby found out that he doesn't have to go back to work tomorrow (which they were insisting on) he's actually got the rest of this week, yay!!! Brilliant day, if you ask me! I really really hope it doesn't all go pear-shaped tonight, but if it does, at least hubby doesn't have to then get up and go teach children all day! x x x
