Subject : upset by insensitive comment!!!

Last night we went to a fireworks party, i was feeding jacob in the bedroom but could still hear all the goings on in the other room.
Someone asked where i was and then someone replied feeding jacob in the other room, she replied oh is she breastfeeding, and they said no not anymore... hen she replied.. OH!!!!!!!! Well she didnt perserve very long did she!!!!

I was so upset i ended up staying in the room for the rest of the night! She has no idea why i gave up breast feeding and what a difficult decision it was!!!

Sorry for the rant!

Oh hun, I know it was a massively difficult decision for you and one that was best for you. I feel so under pressure to stop BFing from my family and friends so have had lots of comments so fully understand how you feel.

You did what was best for you and JJ and should be proud you did what you did BFing wise at least you tried (its so hard) and that JJ has a happy mummy and so in turn will be a much happier baby.

We love you FF or BF. Hugs from me and Elana.

Ooooh Steph people have an opinion on everything at the minute and its driving me mad!!

JJ is gorgeous and happy and most importantly healthy.......its what every works for you.........even if you stopped because you couldnt be arsed to BF (which I know isnt the case) SO WHAT?? its your baby and as long as he is happy, healthy and safe then whatever way we bring them up is correct......at least you tried!

That is awful, I'm still bf but I'm still not finding it easy and I battle with guilt everyday.
For some people it comes very naturally so it does seem easy (especially for those who have never done it lol)

You should feel proud of yourself for doing it and making the difficult decision to do what is best for you and Jacob. You did not 'give up' you just changed the way you feed him!

poor you. i'm not finding bf easy either and as you know i am mixed feeding now and probably won't be bf anymore by 3 months. I'm finding it so hard. I know what a difficult decision it would have been for you. I wish people would keep their opinions to themselves. hugs x

How ridiculous - you've done what's best for your baby and you, and no-one else has a say in it in my opinion! Your son is gorgeous and thriving, and you are a wonderful mummy so don't worry about it for one moment more please! I agree with Lulu - you didn't give up, you chose a different way to feed him xx

i know your right i need to look at it in a different way! I just cant believe how people think they have the right to comment and say what ever they think with out giving the other person a thought! it was the same during pregnancy people think they have the right to comment on your weight etc..

I didnt even pop in to see my aunty the other day because i knew she would disaprove of the dummy!!! silly i know xxxx

What a silly Moo! I am sure you did your best, and that's all you can ask for. How dare people think they can comment on YOUR decisions for YOUR baby.

Please don't let narrow minded people upset you

Hi hun,

oooh that makes me mad! Id of not been able to hold my tongue and probably have put my foot right in it so well done for not rising to her!
I know how hard it is to BF and the guilt that comes with giving up but JJ is growing so well and milk is milk at the end of the day, he doesnt care where it comes from and its none of her blimmin' business how you choose to feed your son.

Dont think anymore of it, and as MrsB84 says be very proud of the time you did do it for.
Be interesting to know if this woman has any children of her own.....!xx

Oh Steph, you do not want to know all the expletives I am currently saying to my laptop!!

Other people can go and blow up. What matters is happy, healthy Mum and baby. JJ is perfect and I know you had a hard time. Keep going with whatever is right for you as a family.
